Razaratan and Jess walk all the way to the castle. There's a guard outside, inviting them in. They enter the castle to find some mushroom people celebrating with some orange critters definitely not made of paper with leaves on their heads. There's a giant banner reading
"Nectar Festival"
Amongst the crowd, some people stand out. There is an orange critter with some kind of spiral glasses and a blue boo alone in a corner.
Razaratan: "Well, this definitely looks like what Cinder and Cadence told us..."

Upon reaching the house, the two of them check that they weren't followed (anyone else in the party would be fine, but that's it), close the door, and shut the curtains. They'll speak in a quieter tone since the window is broken and thus the house isn't soundproof.
Cinder: "Before we continue, what we're about to say is of the utmost secrecy. Can you promise to keep a secret, no matter how world-shattering?"

Cadence: "Well you see, when we said we were from out of town..."
Cinder: "...That was a bit of an understatement."
The two deactivate their disguises for a moment before reactivating them.
Cadence: "You see, something happened and several worlds have combined together with results varying from relatively safe like yours seems to be to outright disastrous like ours where almost everyone has gone missing and monsters roam the nearly empty town."
Cinder: "And that's where we come in. The two of us are part of a team tasked with solving problems created by these fusions of world with the end goal of returning the worlds to their natural state pre-fusion. That's a lot to take in at once, so I'll give you a moment to do so and ask any questions you might have."

As you said it seems like most of the townspeople aren't too bothered by this, and with the main species in this town appearing to be part mushroom this nectar technically might suit their nutritional needs, meaning that attacking the orange creatures and demanding they return the town's food would cause more problems than it would solve, and for all we know they may not even mean any harm by this and simply don't understand that other species require more than nectar. If we can find some people in this town that aren't plant or fungi based who are struggling under this new diet, or perhaps even more people who miss the old food like you, we might be able to persuade them to return the food peacefully."
