I love Betrayal at House on the Hill. It's a fun board game. I'm surprised how well I'm able to remember the room tiles without breaking them out and checking.
I wonder if I could use other board games to inspire scenarios? Lords of Waterdeep, easy... Forbidden Island? Oh. If Justice decides to overstay his welcome in his Blitz, that may become a thing. Book of Madness... I can do better. Millenium Blades? It's just metagame/parody Yu-gi-oh. Risk, Monopoly... Pandemic, maybe? Love Letter, Ticket to Ride, Dominion, Seven Wonders, Settlers of Catan... OH.
Arkham Horror, of cou- eh, I do plenty of Cthulhu shit.
Dead of Winter, yes! Oh... Or Battlestar Galactica! Yes, how to write a scenario with a hidden traitor, though... I guess I could do some kind of special multiplayer run where one of the players is- OK, cutting that idea here, it's stupid. Maybe have an NPC they have to identify as the traitor. Oh, yes some sort of Clue thing would be a good non-combat scenario...

...Non combat? Uh...I specialize in kicking ass, Crow. But I suppose my puzzle solving skills aren't bad. Uh...I'm good at analyzing enemies for weaknesses. Does...does that count?

(Makes notes to definitely use Forbidden Island if Justice goes up to Lunatic/Nightmare level difficulties)
Digi is currently exploring a trap house! He actually avoided both enemies he could've bumped into. He's doing pretty good, other than that time when he died. Horribly. But that's why he had extra lives! Because sometimes luck is unfair. And also because elder gods are cruel and wouldn't be satisfied just killing you once.
And the mission before that was a pop quiz. Which he aced.
And the one before that was... Well, there were three enemies, but they were really just a distraction. The real win condition was "Melody can use her bow or Diana isn't dead when the emergency stop button comes into view." He kinda subverted that, though, so... neat.

Nope! You collect cups and shiny trophies and bring them to shrines, while shoring up island tiles to stop them from sinking underwater.

Oh, that. Is. Perfect! I know exactly what the next scenario I write is based on! OK, so how do I go about this... O-o-o-oh, it'd be a good one for an intrigue-style thing where players have to keep all their special little powers hidden and be discreet about using them. Oh, it would suck so hard for Neo!

I didn't say they were dressed as maids, just that they were working as maids... And I didn't dress them as maids the way I kinda-did with your hunters and pirates. Neo dressed them as maids. I also didn't consider who it was Neo brought. Not like I was going to re-write everything, anyway. Let him have his fun. |
