In all honesty that fits the character I have planned perfectly since his whole series is about starting the game underpowered but growing stronger by beating bosses and gathering collectibles. I'll give him a signup tomorrow.

Similar, but not exactly the same. Instead of becoming the character, its more like being telepathically linked so you can tell them what to do and see from their perspective.

Just by curiosity, how would you translate an attack that inverts controls?

The character would perform the action in the opposite direction they were planning to. Run forward would become run backward, attack an enemy would be attacking in the opposite direction of that enemy, heal an ally would become heal in the opposite direction of that ally, jump would become falling on the floor, and so on.
