Ask any question and I will answer. I just don't really know about what's going on, besides that some apocalyptic thing happened and a giant monster is now roaming the land. Note Beasts are like summons, but are there premade ones or do you make your own? Ill start with the basics. By which I mean this book that Jonathan found. The origin of Note Beasts. Long ago, the people of this land lived in fear of the monsters that roamed the continent. However, this was no way to live. That is why the first Conductor, Alcen, summoned the first Note Beast. Using Notes, Note Beasts can be summoned from the depths of one's heart. This means Note Beasts are not summoned from another world, but are an aspect of the human soul. Given physical form, they strive to protect their closest friend, the Conductor. Conductors and Note Beasts share a deep and unbreakable connection. Next up, The First Symphony Summon. Long ago, it was discovered that by having multiple Conductors work together with a single summon, they could perform a Symphony Summon. This would cost one thousand lives in total. The Conductors would all be combined into the Symphony Summon beast. It was defeated long ago by Alcen and the first Conductors, but it is unknown how. Current History Up Until One Year Ago Six guilds are known throughout the world. Hero's Sun, which was set up to protect the world by the first Conductors. It is one of the largest guilds with an academy that teaches students about Note Beasts. Storm, a new and small guild. The leader, Hurain, hopes to work with Hero's Sun to protect the world. They were actually the first guild to join the efforts against the Symphony Summon. The Golden Mercenaries. A large group of mercenaries that will do anything if the price is right. The Grand Library, seeking only knowledge in the world, only focuses on filling their large library. The Ancient Warriors have a strict training regimen and pass down years of tradition and culture. Finally, Dark Conquest. They worked to take over the world. But the leader was blinded by greed. He tried to use the Symphony Summon to take over the world. He failed. The Second Symphony Summon As the summon was performed successfully, the heroes failed. The Symphony Summon destroyed all of the guilds and every major city. Those that survived the blasts were mixed with their Note Beasts, becoming Beastmen. Beastmen were shunned and hated by humans outside of the Hope Guild. They are considered monsters by those outside of the Hope Guild. Speaking of which, the Hope Guild is the remains of the old guilds, now reunited under a single flag. Their purpose is survival. Regarding the old leaders, Hurain died in battle against the Symphony Summon. As he fought, he sacrificed himself to give Lawrence enough time to seal the beast. Lawrence was fused with his Note Beasts, turning into a Beastman. He works for the Hope Guild, keeping watch over the sealed Note Beast. But from his condition, he will never be able to fight again. Lilliana, leader of Hero's Sun was heartbroken to hear that her mission was an utter failure. Nobody has heard from her since. Rumors say that she died afterwards. Most likely a suicide. Narusaki, leader of Ancient Warriors, works with the Hope Guild as an active leader. However, she prefers to give guidance instead of take full ownership of the guild. Frex, leader of the Golden Mercenaries, disappeared after the Symphony Summon. Its assumed that he died in the blast that hit his army. Syak, leader of Dark Conquest, was the first victim of the Symphony Summon. He was eaten alive by the beast. Its said that all twelve heads took a bite just to make a point. Now to answer your question. Note Beasts are like Digimon. But they're like Digimon that are a part of you and linked to your heart. When you summon one, I will give you its appearance and element based on the note type and song you provide. You control it and decide its personality though. Same thing goes with rank ups. Depending on song and gem type, ill decide what changes about its element and appearance, but you decide all the skills and such.

Yep. They'd be at the ceremony right now, they'd pick out an instrument, a note, go to the altar, and play a song which will be used to create a Note Beast. If they don't already have a weapon then they'd pick one as well.

As such, the answer is that technically they're neither since Just makes them on the spot. Okay, that makes sense. So if I made a character they'd have to summon their first Note Beast to get one? Unless they were a beastman. Beastmen already had note beasts and where combined with them. You are allowed two characters and both Beastmen and conductors play differently regarding mechanics, so I suggest you try both out if you can't decide which to play as.

I was thinking Conductor since it interests me more. Beastmen makes me think of the Beastmen from GL. Okay, thanks y'all. I'll see if I can think of a decent character.

Name:Melody Age:16 Element:Celestial Race:Human Backstory:"Um... Backstory...? Oh, like my history, okay. I hail from a long line of musicians. The business hasn't always been easy, but our family's heart lies in the arts, music especially. My father was Chord and my Mother was Symphonia. I had a big brother and a big sister named Chory and Harmony respectively. My Sister died in the Summon. My father tired to help the rest of us get somewhere safe, but we got seperated, and my mother got sick, so... Chory and I decided we'd come here. On the way we ran into some bandits, and... I haven't seen him since. I'm generally pretty quiet and I hope I haven't taken up too much of your time... I laly hope you let me join your guild, I may not have any special talents besides playing music, but I'll do whatever I can to help."

Your sign up is accepted, Digi. You can go ahead and have your character select a Note and Weapon in the Hope Guild thread. We'll say she's been there the whole time and is the last one to perform the summoning. You can post a song as well with your selection of Note if you'd like.

As for her Appearance, since I didn't mention it, She is relatively skinny, with long light blonde hair pulled into a side ponytail. She wears a white yukata with a blue bubble/dot pattern.

I thought it was just some dude. You can pick any NPCs that would fit it well though. Most players characters don't seem like they'd do that in character. Except maybe B-Ball Mage or Rachel.
For NPCs that could have done that...
Narusaki Frex maybe Gerand
There would be others, but...there were a LOT of people that died during the Symphony Summoning.

It was some Dood but well just wanted to know who was capable of causing an explosion. It wasn't going to lead to anything til later. Like maybe Jill sees this person and note beast and oh my your the best are that killed my parents.
So Umm who are the people you mentioned just and how would they react to Jill if she called them a murder.

Narusaki is one of the leaders of the Hope Guild and used to run the Ancient Warriors guild. She was actually at the ceremony where you all got your first Note Beasts. She's probably the strongest of the leaders, but she prefers to help run things at the base instead of going out in the field since she can protect it that way. If you called her a murderer she'd mostly be confused and wonder who you are.
Frex went missing after the Symphony Summon, but used to lead the Golden Mercenaries. He's assumed to be dead. If you called him a murderer, he'd probably say something along the lines of "Yeah, so what? We've all killed people before."
Gerand is one of the Hope Guild leaders. He was the one that took Jill over to the dorm tree. If she called him a murderer, he'd probably have no idea what she was talking about.

Well calling them a murder is probably a little too much but well I guess that's how they would respond.
