Chip, Markus, and Werp enter the spooky forest they went to before to capture that criminal Gastly in. It looks pretty much the same as before. The party moves forward, walking past the dead trees in the cold and dark land. They eventually come upon a group of Shadow Shuppet floating around. There's three of them. They haven't noticed the party, so you can fight or you can try to sneak around them.

The party moves onward, ignoring the free EXP Shuppets. They continue along and eventually find a Shadow Phantump and two Shadow Litwicks. It seems that they also do not notice the party. You can choose to ignore these enemies as well or fight them.

Chip attempts to sneak past the enemies, but Werp wanders directly into the Litwick, losing the party's chance to avoid battle. The enemies are surprised and the party gets a chance to attack first.

Markus shoots a psychic beam at one of the Litwicks, quickly followed by Chip tackling it, surrounded in electricity. The Litwick is taken down, but Chip takes some recoil damage. Werp then unleashes a Water Gun on another Litwick, taking it down in one hit. The Phantump uses a strange ray on Markus, confusing him. Markus suddenly sees illusions of Shadow Charizards everywhere.
