If Balor isn't in the party can they at least stick around as a team pet? This is a crucial question.

Some NPCs stick around, even if you don't make a team with them.

Well has long as Balor, Terra,Stalker lady and Fafinir dood are in it So that's... none from the formation Cheese and I were talking about. Also it's 4 characters I would stick on the frontline. Other than whether to use Clang or Lin. Maybe we should go about this another way? The... way I kinda said was stupid but now I think could have potential. Have everyone list their top 3 character picks and see what good teams we can pull out of that? Mine are -Hex (Life Trade and Sacrifice too good, plus a full-party revive and the ability to fulfill a ton of roles) -Lucia (Damage+Healing, basically the EOIII equivalent of the medic) -Clang (Great late-game frontliner, great sustain, helps reduce pressure on party early with summons)

I may only have min knowledge on the EO series. I have EO 4 and EO 2 untold stories the Fawful knight. Yet I don't know if I have a top three here's my choices.
Finfer: Fawfuls seem to be really strong melee characters and seem to be the powerhouse. Plus the transform ability sea like it would be really helpful against bosses or tough enemies.
Terra: Typical Knight like character it seems there to protect your weaker and less defensible units. Also pretty decent offensive abilities.
Sam: Just because in any RPGs healers are always essential. You need someone to keep your people alive.

My top 3 would be Terra, Erin and Balor, I suppose.
That said, since Urvan will probably get a slot in best glay glayblack bird version, I'd consider Clang instead if someone like annoying bard got in to support his bots. Especially if he's our main tank with Erin putting aggro on him.

TBH I just want Balor to be in the party, I don't really care about anything else.

So you're going to make a team using Hex, Lucia, Clang, Finfer, Terra, Sam, Erin, and Balor? That's...eight. Now you just have to pick five instead.

OK. So... Let's... start with... um...
Front: Lucia, Clang, Fin, Terra, Balor Rear: Hex, Erin, Sam
I think X most wanted Sam because he wants a medic, but Monks double as medics, so I don't think we need both.
So... from highest to lowest...
Attack (single): Terra, Finfir, Erin, Balor, Clang, Lucia
Attack (multi): Balor, Finfir, Terra, Lucia, Erin
Attack (elemental): Finfir, Clang
Shield: Balor
Buff: Terra
Debuff: Hex, Balor, Erin
Ailment: Hex, Erin, Lucia
Binding: Hex, Erin, Terra
Healing: Sam, Lucia, Hex (in combat), Balor, Terra (on kills), Erin (out of combat)
So... uh... Maybe... I do think Erin and Hex is the best back line, with Lucia instead of Sam on healing. Then Balor and... uh... I'd still like Lin or Miror because our buff ability is really low. But Terra, maybe?
