Awkward
You wake up in a small apartment to the sound of car traffic outside. It sounds like there's a lot of honking cars out there. Your head also hurts for some reason. Getting to your feet, you look around the room you're in. It's a simple and small apartment. Only one room and one bed. There is a bathroom though. You notice that your furniture is mostly limited to a television and a bed along with some weird, glowing altar. You also notice that someone else is in here. Amy Rose. Huh. Wonder why she's here. Looking out the window to outside, you can see you're up pretty high. There's a lot of neon lights outside. It looks like a big city. You also notice a casino that's not too far from here.
Before you can do much else, someone busts down the door and starts yelling at you. "HEY, YOU'RE RENT IS DUE AND YOU HAVEN'T PAYED IT IN MONTHS!" He's a small raccoon creature wearing a blue apron. "Huh? Who are you? You aren't the guy that stays here. He must have run off and left you here! Well, that's too bad for you, because you're just going to have to pay off his debt for him."

"Uhhhhhh..." Eye the casino out the window. "...Yeah. I can get your money, coon. You're gonna have to cut me some time, but I'll cover rent. By the way, who the hell stayed here before me? It's not her, right?" Point at Amy.

The raccoon looks over at Amy. "Nope, not her. It was some guy with bandages on his arms. Thought he was super cool and edgy or something. WHATEVER. Just make sure you get the money, okay, kid? I'll give you a few days to settle the debt." The raccoon walks on out of the apartment and leaves both you and Amy there.

Awkward thinks out loud to himself. "Hmm... bandages, bandages, bandages... cool and edgy. Money. Lots of money. Huh. Who could THAT be?"
Awkward then remembers Amy in the room. "Oh! Uh, what's up? I don't think either of us know why we're here... right? So let's work together! Fist bump of friendship!" Awkward goes for a fist bump.
Amy raises her eyebrow at the entire act, then sighs. "Well... all right. Since we're both in the same situation, I guess working together would be the best idea right now! Your appearance is kinda weird, though..." Amy returns the fist bump while almost breaking Awkward's fist. The sound of a minor explosion can be heard at impact.
Awkward, after minor recuperation, examines the alter before deciding to head out.

You check the altar and find some sort of cryptic message on it.
"Return with the gear of time to find the way forward. Only then will you find the one with the mark."
It...doesn't make much sense. You decide to head out of the apartment and into the city.
Walking outside, you see a ton of neon lights everywhere. The casino is just across the street, but there's also multiple other stores that sell just about anything you might be looking for. The traffic here is terrible. There are cars everywhere. There's also a ton of people here.

Awkward: "Damn, that stupid altar riddle's still makin' me so mad... Anyway, I want to check out that casino so we can go gamble hardcore and earn the money for the debt, BUT I also wanna do some potential shoplifting. Let's check out a store."
Amy reluctantly follows as they head into the closest shop.

You both walk into what looks like a clothing store. The clothes here are all really fancy. Rich people are buying things in here. You notice there's a girl with long brown hair and glasses working here, but she doesn't seem particularly interested in her job. The only other person that catches your eye is this weird, golden treasure chest with eyes that's just sort of spilling coins everywhere and buying everything.

Awkward: "That's... a LOT of cash just sittin' around." There's a gleam in Awkward's eyes as he's eyeing the treasure chest. "I think I got an idea. Go along with this. First, let's try to get the scoop on this guy..."
Awkward and Amy walk up to the girl working here.
Awkward: "Hey, we wanted to let you know there's a walking treasure chest in your shop that's spilling a TON of money and buying everything. I guess it balances out somehow. Is it a regular here?"

Awkward: "That's odd. Thanks for your time."
Awkward's got an idea going on... Awkward and Amy will leave the store and stand somewhat away from the entrance while waiting for the treasure chest to exit the store. Look around for any nearby dark alleys while waiting. If the chest leaves the store, Awkward will take out his sphere and try using a Lengthy Cutscene on the treasure chest to momentarily trap him.

You head outside and find a nearby dark alley. It's very sketchy looking and complete with a hobo wearing a cardboard crown on his head. You then look back at the store and notice the chest leaving the store before using your Lengthy Cutscene! The chest appears to be stuck in a cutscene that is much longer than it should be.

All riiiiiight! Let's take out that Mop I have in my sphere and just... sweep that chest with it into the dark alley. Once we're in there, let's quickly summon Silver (with those pajama pants) and have him hold the treasure chest in midair with his psychokinesis so it can't escape. Amy only has very large amounts of confusion from seeing Silver and the sphere.

You quickly sweep the chest into the dark alley and summon Silver, having him hold it in midair with psychokinesis. "HEY, LET ME GO! AHHH!" He seems to drop gold coins just from screaming.
The hobo wearing a cardboard crown looks slightly panicked and runs off. "HOBO LORD, AWAY!"
The chest's screaming seems to attract some unwanted attention as what looks like a Moogle wearing a police officer uniform enters the area. "Hold it right there. Just what exactly are you doing?" He holds up a little badge. "MPD, Moogle Police Department! Are you stealing from this treasure chest man thing?"

Awkward: "Moogle Poli- you're kiddin' me, right? You're gonna have a raging headache when you wake up..."
This got messy quick. First, we're gonna have to use our Feeling Like Garbage Cutscene on the Moogle. Then let's summon Reala. He'll fly towards the entrance of the dark alley and turn into a large, inconspicuous billboard to keep the alley hidden from sight. While this happens, Amy will proceed to totally wallop the treasure chest with her hammer while Silver holds the chest in place until the chest is knocked out. Awkward will also summon... Beast Boy. And Ness. Beast Boy will turn into a huge gorilla and start punching the living lights out of the Moogle cop in the cutscene while Ness uses Paralysis Ω to paralyze both the Moogle and the chest for safety.
If any of the enemies get knocked out this turn, Awkward will walk up to their body and stare at them while Awkward's eyes turn yellow, using the power of his Tanden Engine to copy their data and obtain whatever abilities they got.
