We aren't headed to Onette until Melee because that's where it is. Dreamland is the next area after the Prologue.

Um, I can do Earthbound stuff for you. Took a few decisions, but won't reveal them all, because spoilers! What I want to talk about is the following: I want a Earthbound villain as a Master troop for Chapter 1... That will only be if you feel you are able to handle a boss battle. Do you think you are up to the task? Just PM a Earthbound villain. The only requirement is that he must be somewhat intelligent to be a master troop. Example of what is ok: Obviously intelligent: Characters like King Boo, Andross, King K Rool, etc. Shows sign of intelligence: Characters like Dynablade, Ridley, legendary pokemons, etc. Not ok: Never showed clear sign of intelligence/wild: Smorg, Queen Metroid, Kracko, etc.

Forgot to say. I didn't think about the Master troops yet, so you guys can send me suggestions. They don't have to be relevant to the chapter's world. Twinrova was an exception, since they were in the prologue to fit the traitor theme against Ganondorf.
So you can suggest anyone who you think fits the criterias of intelligence for the Master troops.
Now, if you suggest a Fire Emblem, Xenoblade or Mother character for the Master Troops and I accept the suggestions, I'll ask you to write the boss battle against that character once it happens.
Important: to keep an element of surprise, send all suggestions by PM.
I am now taking suggestions for Chapter 1! (Dreamland)

In case of death, what do you guys prefer:
1.Your character dies, you have to pick a new one.
2.Your character becomes a trophy. Someone has to find you and touch you before you can do anything else in the chapter.

I'd prefer 1 since you don't have to be forced to do nothing for a really long time.

I actually prefer 2. I've never really enjoyed permadeath, even if I can think of a couple of characters to play as. Besides, it fits the Smash environment more.

This actually makes me think of Megaman and ROB being special cases... Played Megaman 1-8, but never got into the lore. Is there any reason to believe he couldn't be repaired if he's destroyed? EDIT: Shulk (Maybe Bowser too) could repair Megaman and ROB I guess, but if these two die, I think you guys will then be at risk of permadeath.

Not particularly. He's completely a robot, so he should in theory be fixable. The hard part would be finding someone who can repair him. Well, and there's the fact that his death animation doesn't show any pieces left behind, but that's probably just for discretion. Edit: I just remembered that 7 has a robot archive as a mid stage showing several of the previously defeated bosses in the background (you walk in and find Wily stealing Guts Man), and if they could be rebuilt, it stands to reason that so could Mega Man.

Well, you quoted me before I edited my post.
As long as Shulk (From what I know, he's a mechanical nerd) and Bowser (Built Clown copters, mecha koopas, etc.) are alive, Megaman and ROB are pretty much invincible.

Not to mention that if R.O.B. dies, Mega Man could bring him to Dr. Light to fix.

Yeah, Shulk could definitely repair robots.
Gameplay-wise, I actually prefer 2. However, the idea of not being able to do anything worries me. It'd be cool if, while you're a statue, you enter the world of Subspace, or something that prevents you from simply "waiting".

I think it adds an element of suspense knowing you could die at any moment. Maybe you could have them respawn, but it's really bad for some reason. Like you lose something important or your captured by the enemy.

Like you lose something important or your captured by the enemy. That could work. Nobody dies permanently, but there's also a penalty to make sure people play carefully. Alternatively, you could miss out on the rest of the chapter AND lose any items you've obtained.
