You continue along the path before shortly coming across another group of enemies. Two giant caterpillars block the way. They're quite fuzzy and have spikes on their heads.

Your group continues onward, soon coming across a group of red mushroom creatures. Edgar seems disappointed and scoffs at them. "These things are too weak for me."

"Don't get cocky Edgar. Concentrate and plan your actions. Don't assume you already won. If you have water attacks or attacks with an area of effect, it's time to use them.

I'm gonna immobilize one of them like before."

Rachel will use Dark Goo on an enemy.

Faya laughs and points at one of the mushrooms.

Demi: "This one is ours!"

Demi and Faya will use Grapple Smash on one of the mushroom.

Mars, Jack, Jill

Ayane quickly jumps forward, stabbing her enemy before Mars follows up with a slash of his own. Jill tries her best to spin the enemy caterpillar into the other one, but has some difficulty with their size and weight. However, she does manage to damage one with her whip. Jack then uses a Flame Slash on the caterpillar attacked by Mars, taking it down with the attack boost from Luna. Trisha watches her enemies from behind, focusing on the remaining caterpillar carefully. The remaining enemy shakes around, sending spores out all over from its fuzzy body. They sprinkle over the party and both Trisha and Luna are inflicted with the poison status. The two of them receive damage at the end of the turn. It might not be a bad idea to consider switching them out with a different Note Beast.

Rachel

Demi and Faya work together to smash one of the mushrooms while Rachel traps another one in goo. Erius stabs it with his lance followed by Rocky kicking it, taking it down as you ordered. Edgar seems unimpressed. "I'm ending this!" He slams his claw in the ground and a shadowy wave blasts outward, taking out the remaining mushrooms. "Is that all?"

Demi and Faya Lv. 1 -> 2

As the party begins to move forward again, there's a loud rumbling within the area. One of the giant mushrooms begin to move! Erius steps back and watches in awe. "Whoaaaaa! That thing is huuuuge!"

"Get back, you idiot! It's an enemy!" Edgar stands in front of Erius as the giant mushroom turns, revealing a gigantic, singular eye that gazes at you. Sharp teeth appear at the base of the mushroom as well. Two mushroom covered vines come up out of the ground as well. "This must be the thing controlling those smaller mushrooms. We'll have to kill it before it kills us."

Rachel: "hmm... It's a fire mushroom again... Let's see how poison fares against it."

Sakar will fight this battle. He'll start by shooting a venom dart at the enemy. Rachel will approach the Vine so it targets her. She'll use Volt Dome before the vine attacks her.

Jack and Jill switch their personas Note Beasts and the entire party attacks together, taking down the last caterpillar.

Before the group can celebrate their victory, however, powerful winds begin to blow in their direction. Descending from the sky is a gigantic moth-like creature that lets out a horrible screech. The wings it has look oddly sparkly. This thing must be from the caterpillars you've killed. An older form or something of the like.

Sakar and Demi & Faya switch out with Sakar throwing a venomous dart into the Oni Mushroom. It doesn't look poisoned, but it took some damage from the attack. Rachel then moves over to one of the giant vines and tries to provoke an attack, creating an electric dome around herself when it tries to slam into her. She damages the vine and take no damage. Erius leaps at the Oni Mushroom, jabbing it with his lance before Rocky shoots a rock into the same enemy. Edgar then slams his claw into the ground, sending a wave of darkness into the Oni Mushroom and both vines. The mushroom vine that didn't attack releases purple spores throughout the area, poisoning both Erius and Rocky. The Oni Mushroom then releases a fire breath on everyone, dealing damage to the whole party.

Erius looks a little dizzy. "Whoa...I don't feel so great..."

Edgar looks annoyed. "You went and got yourself poisoned? We don't have time for this! There aren't any antidotes in this area!"
