Long ago, the world was protected and watched over by six Guardians. The Guardian of Fire, Phoenix, The Guardian of Earth, Twin Lions, The Guardian of Thunder, Tiamat, The Guardian of Water, Aquashiver, The Guardian of Darkness, Karthustrum, and The Guardian of Light, Terra. For a long time, the world was peaceful under the influence of these six Guardians.
However, one day, an evil force took control of The Guardian of Darkness. He turned on the other Guardians and attempted to take control of them. However, the Guardian of Light would not allow this to happen. She gave her power to a Legendary Hero, helping them and guiding them to seal away the Guardian of Darkness. This cycle continued for many years. The seal would break and the Guardian of Darkness would escape, giving rise to a new Dark Lord.
But one day, The Guardian of Light poured out all of her power. She gave her strength to twenty Heroes of Light that she believed would change the world and end the cycle. The Guardian of Darkness fought against her, giving his power to twenty Dark Lords he believed could stop them. It was a long a difficult journey. Friends were lost and new ones were found. But at the end of it, the Dark Lords and Heroes of Light fought in the largest battle the world ever saw. In the end, the heroes prevailed, taking down the Dark Lords and removing the evil that once controlled the Guardian of Darkness. However, this used the last of the Guardians' powers. The six of them faded from the world shortly afterward.
With the Guardians gone, humanity soon turned to a new source of power, the crystals. Using the crystals, the world soon advanced beyond their old technology. Magitek reached a new height it could not before. Cities began to appear, built around the crystals. However, it would not be long before a new evil arose, attempting to take control of the crystals and their power...
Our story begins in Terran, one of the largest cities in the world and home to a powerful crystal. Here, the new heroes will first come together and then rise against this new danger in the world.
Upgrades, Skills, and Magic
Alright, so here’s how you’ll gain upgrades for your weapons. At first, you won’t be able to upgrade them, but this is only during the first mission. However, you will pick up items dropped from enemies called Aether Energy (AE). You can spend various types of AE to upgrade your weapon, increasing your Strength, Defense, or other stats.
As you play through the game, your character will naturally pick up skills as well. These are physical abilities that your character can perform without needing to draw on the power of their weapon or the power of their Eidolon. You will normally gain a new skill after each mission you clear as a part of gaining experience and learning. There aren’t any set skills to choose from, so you get to decide on your own. Just keep in mind that you’ll be starting from the bottom and working your way up. If a skill is too strong, you’ll be told to bring it down a bit.
Magic works similarly to skills, but a bit differently. Like weapon upgrades, you won’t be able to access it immediately. Magic are skills you would not be able to use with your normal ability. They come from your Eidolon. You’ll gain new magic from Spell AE. This is a common drop from bosses.
Combat
Battle works very similarly to Lost Kingdom 2, but with some improvements. With your new weapons, you’ll be capable of attacking from the back row. Parties will now be made of a maximum of four characters, four in the front row and four in the back row.
Melee attacks and magic can be used from the front row, but you won’t be able to use ranged attacks. You’re too close to the enemy! You can use both ranged attacks and magic from the back row, but won’t be able to use melee attacks. Melee attacks will deal more damage, but each one normally only hits once. Ranged attacks, however, hit multiple times, but deal less damage.
Topple and Stagger Mechanics
This game has a new mechanic involved in it called Topple and Stagger. These are two new things you can use to your advantage in battle against enemies. Using ranged attacks, you can attack the same enemy multiple times, increasing your chances of inflicting Stagger. Once you’ve inflicted stagger to an enemy, you have to hit it hard with melee attacks to Topple it. It takes a bit of work and a lot of coordination, but once an enemy is Toppled, you’ll deal double damage to it. That’s when you pull out your strongest attacks! A Topple only lasts for one turn, so don’t waste it! Luckily, you can spend that round attacking without worry since enemies can’t attack while Toppled!
Switch Attacks
If you want to switch characters from the front to the back or the back to the front, you’ll use what’s called a Switch Attack. This is a basic melee or ranged attack that you perform as you switch to a different row. Simple enough. If you’re moving from back to front, it’s a melee attack, if you’re moving from front to back, it’s ranged. You might learn new skills and magic that will also change your position or increase the power of your Switch Attacks.
Some Backstory
Some info I thought you should know that I couldn’t fit into the opening post without it being awkward. The crystals are controlled by an organization known as the Crystal Control and Maintenance Group (CCMG). The CCMG is known in the city as the group that provides energy and light and all the good stuff you get from crystals. However, what most citizens don’t know is that with their power over the crystals, they have control over many large cities and have been working on something rather suspicious.
You will have the option to be working as part of a group that’s working against them, the Crystal Liberators, but you don’t have to take that option if you do not want to.
Character Sheet
Alright, that’s enough story and stuff. I’ll let you guys get set up with your character now. Remember, everyone has a limit of two characters. Your character can be a descendant of one of your old characters, someone completely new, or whatever you want. Have fun with it. Don’t feel like you’ll have to be restrained in any way.

Age: (How old your character is. Not required.)
Race: (Human, Verian, Elf, Magigen, Chibi Goblin, Beast, Shifter, Moogle, Machine or a hybrid of any. If you need description/explanation for any, ask.)

Eidolon: (After the first mission, your character will be linked to an Eidolon, the source of their crystal weapon and magic. Choose carefully as it will affect their elemental affinity. Ifrit, Shiva, Leviathan, Ramuh, Garuda, Titan, King Cactuar, Alexander, Diabolos, Carbuncle, Knights of the Round, Odin, or Bahamut. If you need description/explanation, please ask.)
