When you open your eyes, you're greeted by the sight of a black, purple, and grey landscape. The ground is hard like concrete, but it seems somewhat comfortable. You also notice some black iron fences scattered about in seemingly random patterns. The sky is dull and grey above you, but it doesn't seem stormy, though.
You feel a lump in your pocket. It's something rectangular. It's a decent size, but it still comfortable fits in your pocket.

When you wake up, it feels like you were laying on a hard marble floor. It wasn't uncomfortable, strangely enough. Above you is a bright sky, and around you seems to be a very... colorful and bright atmosphere. It seems like nearby is a river with... light pink, uh, water? The air feels somewhat thin, as if you were high-up somewhere.
As you sit up, you find a rectangular device sitting on you lap. There's a screen near the top of it and three buttons on the bottom part.

You feel slightly itchy. It seems you were sleeping on grass on the ground. As you sit up, you realize that you're in a large field that stretches pretty far in all directions. There's not much besides grass, but you notice there seem to be "bald patches" in spots of the field, where no grass is present. The sky is a soothing blue, with clouds rolling by lazily.
You feel something in your pocket. It's not small, but it's not intrusive either....

It feels like you slept on a rock... Probably because it seems like you were sleeping on some rocky earth. The sky seems to be clear and blue, making the air feel somewhat fresh. In contrast, it appears you're in some sort of rocky terrain. A mountain of some sort, maybe? There's not much to note, although you notice a rope bridges and wooden ones around. It's likely that the gaps in terrain are not navigable without them.
You feel something in your pocket...

Whoa! You immediately notice how cold you feel. As you get your bearings you realize you slept on ice! In fact, it appears that you're on some sort of island of ice. As you turn your head, all you can see if pathways of ice with water between and around them. You shiver a bit from the cold. The only other thing you note is a strange blue pipe in the distance at the end of one of the pathways.
You notice a strange rectangular device laying on the ground next to you...

"T-this this doesn't feel like a dream anymore" Evelina says to herself as she takes a long double-take on her surroundings. "OK OK no time to panic figure this out" She reassures herself and stands up examining the device as she makes her way to the pink river.

Aaron looks around. "Huh... I was in bed, now I'm... Oh! Oh, sweet! I'm..." He takes off running, spreads his arms, and leaps. "LUCID DREAM- ow." He faceplants into the ground. "Harder than it looks... What's this thing in my pocket, anyway?" He fishes around and digs it out.

Ah, ice. Absolutely wonderful. A winter wonderland, if one considered bone chilling ice everywhere to be wonderful. Juli instantly doubled over upon realizing she was in the middle of this harsh ass environment in the clothes she fell asleep in, which just so happened to consist of pretty normal girl underclothes. As she looked around and observed the area the was in, the first things to come to her attention were the pipe and the small device. "Super... Mario?!" This didn't seem like any kind of game - rather, there was a real fear in her heart that she might freeze.
"Phone!" she yelled as she reached for the item, hoping to call for help.

Nate sits up and looks around. "Oh, this is a weird dream. I guess that's pretty standard for dreams though, huh?" He notices something in his pocket. "...There's something in my POCKET OF JUSTICE! I guess I should look at it?" He checks out whatever it is.

As you make your way downtown towards the river, you examine the device in your pocket.
It looks vageuly like a cell phone, but it has a rectangular screen on the top half that doesn't take up the whole device. Below it are three oval-shaped buttons.
Suddenly, the screen flashes a bright white, almost blinding you. When you recover from your daze you look down at the screen. It reads three words:
Open The Altar
Below the words there seems to be a map of the area, with an arrow pointing you downstream.
You arrive at the river. It's not that wide, more like a stream in fact. The "water" is a pale pink and seems to flow towards a waterfall. It doesn't look very high and there appears to be a ladder to get down that level if you want.

You examine the device. It has a screen and three buttons. As you stare into the blank screen it flashes a blidning white. After you're done rubbing your eyes like there's no tomorrow, you notice there's now three words on screen along with a map and an arrow pointing towards one of the corridors.
Open The Altar.

You freak out and panic, trying to use the device to call someone, anyone. You scream into it loudly. Nothing happens.
After you've calmed down, though you're still catching pneumonia and probably frostbite, you look more closely at the device. It's a strange grey and orange, has a black screen and three buttons below it.
You press one and the screen flashes, freaking you out further. Once you've calmed down, again you take another look, reading three words and noticing a map with an arrow pointing a specific direction.
Open The Altar.

"Seems legit... pfft, yeah right! You're not the boss of me, phone!" Aaron says. He spins 360 degrees and walks away.
...Then curiosity gets the better of him and he starts following the map.

Evelina takes a deep breath as she dips her hand into the water taking the moment to still her nerves and wash away any lasting doubts of the validity of this world. Afterwards she stands up and begins walking in the direction of the arrow determinedly.

You blink for a second and feel like you missed something because now the dcreen is on. A map is on the screen with an arrow pointing your a specific direction and three words displayed.

Feels like an acid trip. Well, if you'd ever done acid this is what you'd guess it would feel like.
You check the device. It's two colors, has three buttons, and one screen. Next thing you know you're seeing stars after the thing almost blinds you.
Now, a map of the area is displayed with an arrow pointing in some random direction and three words on screen.
Open The Altar.

Start looking for the Altar! This girl's chilly, and she has to get to some kind of safety! She should try to figure out how the map applies to where she is, and start making her way! I feel like she is in real danger.

You follow the arrow on the screen, walking through the grass. It's not exactly itchy, it almsot feels nice even. It is pretty tall though. Like, up to your thighs tall.
You walk for a bit and think you can hear some noises from a distance. They sound somewhat far though, and not in the direction of the arrow. It's probably best to commit to finding "altar", first.
After a few more minutes of walking and enjoying the breeze and grass, you step onto metal ground. It looks like there's... circuits running through the metal.... now that you look, it appears that there's circuit lines in the dirt too.
In the middle of the small clearing is ehat appears to be a pedestal of sorts. It looks kind of like an altar? You approach it. It's just above thigh height, mostly silver-looking(looks like the same material as the ground), and has circuit lines all on it. The only other noticeable thing is a small rectangular hole in the middle of the top of it...

You follow the arrow, which in turn, means you follow the river.
It turns out that there's metal ladders connecting the upper level to the lower level, so you climb down and take in the waterfall's majesty as you do. Once you reach the bottom, you continue following the river until it drains out into a small pool. Well, presumably at least.
Just beyond the pool the island ends, and there's nothing there but down. Well, there is what is presumably the altar between the pool and bottom.
You approach it. It looks to be made of a similar material as the ground. It's cream yellow and a salmon like most of the area. Not exactly designer colors...
The most noticeable thing is the small rectangular hole on top of the altar.

You follow the arrow, walking over several wooden bridges, which have no guard rails, and thinking about what could happen if you feel into the valley...
Finally, you walk over a bridge enclosed by two cliffs too high to see the top of. You can hear... something vibrating in the distance. It's eerie.
You reach a small space, enclosed by the walls of the rocks. The most noticeable thing is the pedestal in the middle, that looks to be made of rock and wood...
It's not elaborate or fancy, but it has an earthy feel. Or rocky at least. There's a small rectangular hole in the middle of it...

You. Are. Freezing. You don't care wjere this leads you as long as it's anywhere, BUT here.
It turns out that after walking on the ice, you realize thatit isn't as cold as it would seem. Still cold, but not enough to kill you.
Following the arrow leads you to... the pipe you saw earlier. It was an elaborate route you probably wouldn't have figured out otherwise.
There's a metal ladder in the pipe. It's awfully dark.... but you're determined to get out of the cold.
You climb down the ladder until you hit earth. It was a long climb and your arms and legs are exhausted. Luckily it's not cold anymore.
There's a circular metal door and a button beside it. Well, you could always climb back up, but...
As soon as she presses the button, Julienne jumps back. On the other side of the door... is water. Like, tons of it. Yet none of it comes flooding at her... She gazes into the water...
It's pretty clear. Seems thst somehoe you're on the bottom of the ocean. What ocean, though? Julienne can see a pedestal on an isolated platform on the other side...

Charlie is obviously confused, yet knows what tod do. He might not be good with technology, but he knows how to read a map. He tries to follow the directions, while looking at landmarks in ase he gets lost.
