Is Kai asking, or is Kai commanding?

Kai

(The coffins don't have lids, they just slide in and out of the walls - like a morgue)

"Do I... have to?" Natsumi asks nervously.  "I already feel pretty safe in here.  And, ah... it's not that I don't trust you to want to let me out, but if something were to happen to you..."


Tai tackles the witch from her broom just as she fires a massive beam of light.  It gets knocked off-target, shredding the wall instead of the priest.  Tai proceeds to mount her and stab her with a stun gun.  She spasms from the shock, then reaches slips a vial out of her apron and smashes it into the ground.  It explodes, sending her and Tai both flying.  The witch forces herself to her feet, badly injured and propping herself up with her boom but unwilling to give in.  She spits some blood to the floor and takes a fighting stance on the ground.

Kai

"But..." Natsumi begins.  A loud explosion rocks upstairs.  "...Alright..." she says.  She flashes, and her clothes change to a button-down shirt, skirt, and flip-flops.  She stoops down and removes her shoes, then hops onto the edge of the coffin and waits for you to join her.


The witch smirks and flips out a pair of... trading cards?  One triggers as you fire at her, unleashing a shockwave that sends Tai flying into the wall and bouncing to the ground.  It doesn't do much damage, but it breaks all your bullets.  The other card seems to be some kind of simple potion.  She heals herself a bit.

The priest picks himself up and dusts his robes, ready to rejoin the fight.

Kai

You climb into the coffin next to Natsumi.  It's uncomfortably close.  As soon as you're inside, the coffin starts moving on its own.  It slides itself back into the wall.  After that, you remember Natsumi screaming in surprise, followed by... a sharp pain...  Something...  What happened...?

You find yourself back in the fog place along with Natsumi.  She looks around.  "What...  What happened?  Where are we?  Are we... dead!?"


Tai fires a breeze at the witch.  She doesn't seem to take a lot of damage from it, but she drops her guard to hold her dress down.  Not that Tai wasn't already standing beneath her...  The priest takes advantage of the moment of weakness to summon a beam of light.  It rains down from the ceiling and slams into the witch.  When it ends, the witch pauses, then collapses to the ground as her hat falls off.  She's unconscious.

The priest dusts himself off, then walks off muttering about finding a broom.  There's a lot of damage to the cathedral from the fight...

Tai takes a closer look at the witch.  She looks an awful lot like Freya.

Tai manages to find some ropes and things meant for ceremonial purposes and uses them to tie the witch up.  She remains unconscious.  She looks light enough Tai could carry her.

The priest takes her broomstick and uses it to start sweeping.  When you ask what to do with her, he shrugs.  "This poor lost lamb who hath lost her way needs guidance back to the path of the light."


Natsumi... does not take that news well.  "B...  B-But I don't want to be an undead abomination...!" she screams.

"Relax?  But... I...  OK."  Natsumi stops talking and sits down.


The priest looks at Tai and shrugs.  "Only time will tell.  Rehabilitation takes time, my child.  It's not possible to simply change a person at the drop of a hat."  He thinks.  "I'm sure she would benefit from having someone like you or your friend to help guide her."

Just leaving the witch in the chapel, or carrying her with Tai?


Oh, right. I forgot a minor detail meant to help set up how things work.

Kai notices Natsumi's still barefoot in the cloud-world.
