Welcome to the Reaper's Game.
Your character finds themselves waking up in a strange new place, foreign to them. Not only this, but a strange mark has been placed on their hand. With their soul linked to their partner trapped in another world somehow connected to this one, the two of them must find a way to escape this world and win the Reaper's Game. What lengths will you go to to escape this place and what choices will you make?
Battle System
As with most games, Link Gem: The Reaper's Game will have a battle system to it. This will not be like most turn based battle systems I've had recently, however. There aren't any stats in this game. You may also use your attacks however you like if you feel one way may be more effective than another. For example, I could use a Slash ability to cut the rope of a chandelier to have it fall and damage the boss instead of attacking directly. In fact, players are expected to think outside the box when fighting. This game will require more strategy and thinking than brute force and stats. Enemies and bosses will have different ways to fight and interact and not all battles need to end with fists.
However, there is an interesting battle mechanic. When fighting enemies, players can exploit enemy weaknesses to activate a Link and chain attacks against enemies with their allies. Here's how Links work. First, one of your party members must hit an enemy with an attack type they are weak to. Once the enemy has been hit with an attack type they are weak to, an ally in the other world may activate a Link and use a chain ability. From there, any allies no matter what world they are in can activate subsequent chains so long as they have the right skills to do so. Keep in mind each ally may only chain once, so if you've already moved in a Link, you can't move again. This, however, will not take up your entire turn. You can still perform actions. Think of Links as extra actions you can take for hitting a weakness.
Now, there aren't stats, but there are basic measures of power. The most prominent of these is your level. Or rather your Link Gem's level. The higher the level, the naturally stronger you become when you have that Link Gem equipped. Pretty simple, right? Link Gems come with strengths and weaknesses as well. There's Damage, Defense, Speed, and Support. Each Link Gem will have a Strength of either of those four and a Weakness of either of those four. There are also Balanced Link Gems, which don't have Strengths or Weaknesses. Link Gems will also have their own attack type weaknesses, resistances, nullification, and reflections. These are all Link Gem specific and will be detailed when you receive your Link Gems.
Acquiring Link Gems
If you want to gain new Link Gems, a good way of doing this is by making deals with the enemies you face in battle. Little did you know, these enemies are Link Gems as well! You can negotiate with them to win them over to your side. Should you do this, they will become a Link Gem and be added to your inventory. This is a good way of getting extra Link Gems. Keep in mind that if you try to make deals with Link Gems that are higher level than your Main Link Gem, you will automatically fail.
Link Gem Fusion
One of the main ways of getting stronger with Link Gems is fusing two Link Gems together. This can be done in the Gem Vault outside of exploration and battles. Keep in mind that when you fuse Link Gems, you cannot fuse your Main Link Gem and you cannot create Link Gems that are higher level than your Main Link Gem. This does not apply to Arcana Boosts. When fusing together Link Gems, you will get a small overview of what you will create through the fusion. This will be the Arcana and level of unknown Link Gems and it will be the full information of already discovered Link Gems.
Once you've created a new Link Gem through fusion, you will receive Arcana Boosts, which will increase the level automatically and bonus skill slots for carrying over parent skills. Link Gems created through fusion will receive bonuses to their stat indicators as well depending on which Link Gems were used. For example, you could fuse a new Link Gem with a Damage+ boost if you used a Link Gem with Damage as their Strength. Boosts will always come from the first Link Gem used in fusion and carry over from each fusion. For example, if you use a Link Gem with Defense as their Strength and a Defense+ boost as the first Link Gem in fusion, your new Link Gem would have a Defense++ boost. However, if the other Link Gem used in fusion had any boosts, they would be lost.
Finally, there's skills. You can carry over two skills normally. Two chain skills and two active skills. These can be taken from either parent Link Gem. If you have an Arcana Boost, you will be able to carry over more skills depending on the level of Arcana Boost.
Arcanas
Every Link Gem fits under an Arcana category. In the same way, every player in the Reaper's Game represents an Arcana. By interacting with and strengthening your bonds with these players, you will gain Arcana Boosts. The max level for Arcana Links is 10. Arcana Boosts will provide bonus levels equal to the Arcana Link's level when creating new Link Gems of that Arcana. They will also allow you to carry over extra skills equal to that Arcana Link's level of either chain or active variety when creating Link Gems of that Arcana. Keep in mind that not everyone can gain Arcana Links for every Arcana. This is simply because of how the game works and how the players in the Reaper's Game are split up. You will be able to have Arcana Links with your partner in the other world and with any other Reaper's Game players in your world. But you cannot have Arcana Links with other players you don't know in the other world simply because you will not be able to interact with or meet them.

That should be all the information you need to know about Link Gem: The Reaper's Game for now! If you have questions, you can feel free to ask them! You can choose to either sign up two characters so you can be partners with yourself or you can sign up one character and leave it up to fate. You can also request to be partners with another player if you like. Since sign ups are limited, I will limit you to either signing up one character and having an NPC or player partner or having two characters that are partners with each other.
