You wake up in your antique shop. It's always been here... probably. Maybe. Or maybe not. You're not really sure where this is, but it doesn't look quite right outside. Your partner, Tilaran, is asleep in the corner. You can see a chunk of a dark blue sphere sitting on the counter. An unfamiliar computer is sitting on your desk, too. The door is shut, and the sign says your store is closed.

I poke Tilaran, repeatedly, until she gets off her lazy butt.
"I'm awake...!" she mumbles.
I reach out telekinetically, bringing the piece of dark blue sphere towards me. It doesn't move.
"Is that a product? I thought it was junk..." I muse to myself.
Tilaran is quicker than I. She turns it over in her hand. "No price tag. It's mine now."
"Hey, whose job is it to clear up today? That technically makes it mine."
She grumbles, but hands it to me anyway. I turn it over in my hand, and try using my power of seeing what an item is used for.

You find the item has no history. At all. As if it just recently sprang into existence. You still feel like you understand how it works. While you hold it, it starts to disappear into your palm.

"Hey! What are you doing with it? It's disappearing!"
I calmly turn to look at my partner. "It's alright. I can't explain it, but I feel like this is... correct."
"What is it? Are you really that sure?"
The orb vanishes altogether, and I feel something happen.

Not really. You can tell it's inside you for ease of carrying, but you can pop it in and out with ease. You do feel a bit different when it's inside you but you have no idea how so.

Well I guess you gain the ability to pop the orb in and out? And you can feel some stuff rattling around in there that you think you could take out.

"That was weird." I say.
"What – what just happened? It disappeared!"
"I think I could make it reappear, watch." I hold up my hand, and bring it back.
"That's not creepy."
"If I can do that with my whole body, then it's not creepy."
"Dibs on the other mysterious artefact."
Tilaran puts a hand on the laptop. I raise an eyebrow. "Really? A hundred generations of bent forks might have something to say about that."
"Oh hush. That was years ago."

When he examines the laptop, he finds a simple interface that allows him to change aspects of the store. At present, the only option available is Change Color.

I glance over Tilaran's shoulder. There's a simple interface on the screen that allows me to change the appearance of the shop. No options are available, aside from the 'Shop Colour' option. Wordlessly, I change the slider to "ffd600", and watch its effect on the shop.

As Tilaran changes the settings, the entire room and all the furniture turns bright gold.
It looks like you can change different parts of the room and furniture (your bed in the back and counter) separately.

Something's up here. I try and teleport somewhere I've been before, taking Tilaran with me. Hopefully, there will be people with some idea what's happening here.

You try to teleport somewhere you've been before, but you find something's blocking travel. The only place you can reach is the shop itself.
Looking out the door, you realize you don't recognize any of the buildings across the street.

"...What's the hold up?" she asks.
"Something's wrong. I can't feel any destinations. It's like... we've never been anywhere before."
"What do we do, then?"
"We're going to go somewhere else," I say, walking toward the door. "The old fashioned way."
We walk about, and carefully lock the door. I glance around, holding out a hand to block the sunlight.

You open up the register. Not much cash, but could be worse. But nothing in a denomination that could be represented by an R...
