Okay, so we have to get to the amphitheater as soon as possible. But SHOULD we get the cops involved or will they get in the way?

Very good question. As you can surely tell, all choices matter unless labeled otherwise.

So I know it's really early to ask questions about, but how do you plan on having us give you our heroes? Will there be a sign up thing, do we message you and give you all the details, or is there some other way?

So I know it's really early to ask questions about, but how do you plan on having us give you our heroes? Will there be a sign up thing, do we message you and give you all the details, or is there some other way? That's a very good question, and I wouldn't say 'really' early. This is a great time to be thinking of your superheroes, even though there's still more to learn about the world. In particular, you don't have to get married to a specific idea for a character, but start thinking about the kind of things you want their issue to be about. Stuff like literary themes that you'd like to explore with them, what kind of personality you want represented in this world, how they make the world a better place (you don't even have to be a violent superhero if you don't want, folks, there are all kinds of ways to contribute). I want to emphasize that personality and character is actually more crucial to this game than the superpower stuff. Although that's of course awesome and important as well. There will be sign-ups, and there are a few ways I was thinking of doing it. 1. Public Sign-Ups. The usual Vitcon way. Makes sure everyone is on the same page and doesn't misinterpret characters.
2. Secret Sign-Ups. Sign-Up sheets sent in to me privately, and then confirmed in the main signup thread when their issue is reached.
3. Hybrid Sign-Ups. Similar to Secret Sign-Ups but with more info. Players would know who made which character and some basics about them, but not all the details of the sign-up, to keep the mystique of an unfamiliar character.
Either of those two will come with a conversation phase between the players and I, in which we chat privately a little, possibly revise a little, make it a bit of a collaborative thing. This will be at your discretion, I won't screw up your characters and make them unrecognizable or sucky, I promise.
I was also wondering how you all wanted to handle the villains. I've got some ideas cooking up already for possible threats, but I was wondering if you wanted:
1. Assigned Villains. The Issues will be selected for an order once all sign-ups are in, and each issue will have a villain assigned by me, that I think would fit.
2. Volunteer Heroes. The Issues will each have a villain attached to them, and you can select among yourselves who you think would be appropriate for that tale.

I don't have an opinion on the villains, but I did hybrid sign-ups for Apotheosis so... I think it came out well so far, I'm curious how the players feel. But maybe they haven't advanced far enough for that to be something they've thought about.

I think it would be best to assign villains after we know what heroes we have. That way the dynamics and story are much more interesting and fit together in a unique way.

If there are no more posts by tomorrow, I'll update based on the wheel.
