You can think of yourself as righteous and a saviour as much as you want, any claims you had to those titles were forfeit the moment you decided you were willing to take children as hostages. Tai, who's already rather close to Mercia, makes a point to get between her and Leia. He gives Leia a tired but concerned look back, but turns back towards Mercia so quickly that it'd be hard for most to notice.
"Faith, eh? Sounds like you fancy yourself a prophet or a god. Either way, you'll have to excuse the fuck out of me if I need a bit more than 'faith' to just believe a claim about the apocalypse. If someone else wants to accept your invitation then they can be my damn guest. But like hell I'll go along with anyone's", he glances at Alice before turning back, "plan before I have all the damn facts myself. "

Mercia raises her arms and shakes her head theatrically. "Not doing this right? I suppose I'm not. But I've tried being nice, I've tried being honest, I've tried being deceitful, I've tried being friendly... In the end, we have previous little time. I will unite the souls through any means necessary. Without fail. That is simply how it will be, regardless of how you choose to act. However. Understand that if any of you choose to wash your hands of this, to stop getting in my way, you need simply say so. You won't be harmed. I am a creature of my word. Unlike you lot." She glares at Laura, Tia, and Levi.
She turns her focus to Dewey. "As for you, little one, it seems I haven't made my point. I suggest you learn to not make threats without fully understanding your position. I did not come to fight, but I did come prepared. So I suggest you bite your tongue." Mercia snaps her fingers, and another humanoid figure steps out from behind back. "Do not be so overconfident because you assume you outnumber us." With that, she turns and begins to leave.

"I'll try to remember," Mercia calls back.
Karl feels a thud against his shoulder as another of Mercia's goons shoves past him, emerging from behind the group.
Death watches until she's gone, then sighs. "What an unpleasant creature."
There's a general murmur of agreement from everyone in your group.
Alice loudly clears her throat. "That was certainly unexpected. But I think it makes my point. We all need to be careful about what we say, to who, and where. We can all trust everyone who came tonight, but anyone else could be working for that... monster."
"Yeah, yeah. So we all go do our own things for a few days, then meet back up in, like, 2 weeks to compare notes or something? Cool?" Mattea asks.
"It's cool with me," Tom answers. "Any objections? Questions? Complaints?"
None of the others volunteer anything.

As Tai leaves, most of the others start to trickle along behind him. Alice heads deeper into the Otherworld, presumably back the way she came in.
Somnis and Kiran stop to speak with Death for a moment.
"Oh, just look at you! What is your mother feeding you? You're nothing but skin and bones!" Death fusses over Somnis.
"Grandmaaaa, you're embarrassing me..."
Death is undeterred. "Oh, but I love what you've done with your hair. How's school going? You should come visit more often." It looks like this could continue for some time. Maybe it's time to go.

Death notices you being as subtle as a sack of hammers and wraps up her conversation with Somnis, pinching her cheeks and telling her to call when she gets home safe.
She waits patiently for you to come up to her.
