You step through the grey-colored portal and find yourself pulled into the Otherworld.
Even as far as the Otherworld goes, this place immediately feels strange. It doesn't just feel different from your own world, something about it feels wrong.
You're in a small clearing surrounded by massive trees with jet-black trunks and white leaves, with white bushes creating even more of a wall. The grass around you is white. The portal itself is ringed by a circle of small, white flowers. Even the sky is a bright grey.
Looking around a bit more, you notice what looks like a bus stop sign to the side of the portal, though the portal is in an unrecognizable language. Ahead of the portal, you see a pair of paths through the trees. One is directly ahead, the other veering slightly left. Behind the portal, you spot a small gap in the trees and brush. Not big enough to fit through, but you can see a barren, brown wasteland off in the distance.

The two of you arrive at the plains at about the same time, and find Buttons and Kiran already waiting for you. The pair seem to be hanging out and chatting as you arrive. "Oh, hey! About time you guys showed up. So Mattea really did drop out, huh? Oh, well. Still got one cute girl."
"Kiran..." Buttons warns him. "Come on, the portal's going to open soon. Over here, right?"
On cue, the portal opens up, and you all head inside. Once again, Leia finds herself surrounded by start black-and-white flora in a still world.
"Whoa..." Buttons mutters. "This place is... Hm. It's so quiet."
"It hurts my eyes..." Kiran adds, unhelpfully.
Buttons cocks his head. "I wonder which element this area represents?"

Leia points at the small hole in a tree.
"It's... It's like a portal inside a portal!!!
Hey... Wait... You know Kiran... So... Hum... Who's he?"

"Kiran's my bro. We've known each other since...?" Buttons trails off, like he can't actually remember how long it's been. "A while. As long as I can remember."
Kiran nods and walks over to the portal. "Yep. Me, Buttons, Natty, and Somnis have been friends for... uh... Leia? What exactly am I looking at here?"
"There's nothing out there," Buttons points out. "I mean, a weird amount of nothing. So nothing it's weird."
"These trees just kind of... suddenly end and turn into... Wait, look over there. Do you see that?"
"Where?"
"Right there. On the horizon."
"Uh... You mean that little dot?"
"Yeah. I mean, I think it's... it looks like a big-ass tree or something."
"O-oh... Really? You think so?" Buttons says. "You, uh, have really good eyesight."
"Maybe it's another otherworld area or something?" Kiran suggests, excited. "But there's just miles and miles of nothing in the way. Think we could hike it?"
Buttons shakes his head. "Yeah, no. It'd take days. In here. With monsters attacking us. Even if our parents wouldn't be freaking out about us being missing for a week, I'm not risking it. And there's no guarantee it would have a portal back home, anyway."

"Hmm." Tai thinks for a moment, figuring out what they should do. "We'll have to note it as a point of interest. Though I'm not against longer explorations here, we'd have to be fucking stupid to rush in, like, right now. No, for now we should look around and get a feel for the land. Try to figure out what element this land represents and find signs of a guardian."
Tai takes a closer look at the immediate surrounding area, looking for anything of note nearbym

You examine the surrounding area more thoroughly. There are two paths leading out of this small clearing. One straight ahead from the portal, the other off to the left. The portal itself is ringed by white flowers. A sign that looks similar to the bus stop's sign is sitting next to the portal, but the text is written in some kind of weird language. Beyond that, there's nothing here. No signs of movement. Everything is quiet, still. Even the clouds up above are motionless.
Leia
While Tai looks around, Kiran slides over to you. "So-o-o-o, L-Belle. Come here often? The Otherworld, that is. You look like you know how to handle yourself. Plus, you found this place all on your own, right? Impressive!"

"Alright, alright. Looks like we have two main options. We should get a move on. Two of us will take the path forward and the other two will take the path to the left. I'm going left, so which one of you is coming with me?"

Tai seems firm yet gentle in his answer. "It may not be the best idea. It's probably fucking terrible. But we need to cover as much ground as possible. This is the best way to fo that. Just don't stray too far from the path and we can meet back here and discuss whatever shit we find."
