So, while the Game Masters are finishing stuffs, why couldn't our characters just begin talking, interacting inside a tavern?
No battling, just talking.

He sits down at the bar and orders some rhum, while Rachel, alone on a table, sighs.

Kirito walks into the tavern, looking around and taking everything in. He notices a small table in the back corner and heads for it. He decides to look over the menu and see what kind of food the tavern has for sale. He want's to go out and hunt, but the gates are sealed.

(I wasn't going to put anything up yet since the game wasn't ready, but I guess it's fine. Gives us a chance to put our first parties together.)
Zyl sits off on his own at a table and seems disinterested in everything. Terry is at a different table, trying to set up an exploration party with anyone he can get. Yura is wandering around and secretly listening in on others' conversations. Baru is just looking around at the others. The tavern seems quite busy since the launch of SAO!

Wallace enters the tavern, goes straight to the bartender and asks him:
"Bartenders alaways know everything! Is there someone here who likes hunting?"
The bartender point towards Kirito and Wallace goes towards him:
"Mind any company?"

Kirito calculatingly looks at Wallace's gear.
"I suppose, but try and keep up with me. I was a beta tester, so I know where the good spawns are."

"I might not know anything about spawn points, but if you have a big monster to kill, I'm your man!"

Terry is frantically attempting to get people to join his group. "Hey! Come on! Somebody wants to join me, right? After all, who doesn't want a magic user with you on your first exploration run? Please!? Anyone!?"
Zyl just kind of sits there, bored. He's waiting for the gates to open so he can fight some enemies.
Yura seems interested in Kirito's comment and makes sure to stay close to him without him noticing.
Baru is having a drink at his table and is entertained by this pirate guy.

Eve is outside, hidden in a bush, looking trough the tavern's window.
Rachel looks at Terry and smile... She seems to be laughing at him.
EL Cheato shouts:
"Anyone here likes treasure hunting?"

"Why are you laughing?" Terry looks embarrassed about the fact he's being laughed at.
Zyl notices El Cheato and lets out a sigh. "Is everyone here loud? Seriously..."
Baru decides to go on ahead with El Cheato. "Sure! Let's get hunting! That doesn't sound like too bad of an idea!"

"Well...Um...No. Nobody has leveled up anything yet I don't think. The gates haven't even-" As Terry speaks, there is a sudden announcement.
"Sword Art Online is officially ready! The gates are open! Have fun everyone!"
Many of the others can be heard talking among themselves. Large groups are leaving at a time to head out on hunting trips.
"What!? They can't be ready already!"

Silica walks in with a breeze in her step. "I can't wait to get out there and find some creatures who I can talk to! Hopefully I can tame one, if my level is high enough!"
Meanwhile Asuna wanders into the tavern, looking lost. "Is this where we are supposed to go to begin our game? I can't find the exit..."
