"Tampered with how?" Valerie asks.
"Um... Drugged," Francois mutters. He takes cover behind you.
"...Let's talk outside," Valerie suggests. You all head out into the hall where she takes the water sample and holds it up to the light. "Let's see. No visible powder... no discoloration... Of course not, that would be too easy. No odor. Hm. If I had access to the chemistry facility, I could tell you without any trouble. If the centrifuge wasn't broken, I might even be able to rig it to separate any contaminants out with enough time... as it is..." Valerie thinks to herself.
Larissa comes back to the centrifuge pod with a metal rod she found somewhere and starts setting up a lever to try to move the wreckage. "Hey, you three give me a hand with this!" |

Valerie keeps the water sample and takes a few steps back.
"Rrrrgh... D-do I have to?" Francois asks.
Larissa finishes setting up her lever and you and Francois join her. With the both of you helping... the metal rod she brought bends uselessly. "Uh... Damn," Larissa says. "Let's try using more than one at the same time?"
You set up the system again with more than one rod, and manage to toss some of the metal pod aside.
Francois takes one look at the mangled body now exposed, grabs his mouth, and flees around the corner.
Larissa takes a step back and grimaces. "This is..."
You look over the scene and see that whoever this is, the bottom half of their body is almost entirely gone. The top half is smashed, badly crushed against the wall, utterly unrecognizable. Any evidence that might have been useful has been disintegrated. |

"N-no, I'll... find something! After all that...!" Larissa promises. She bundles up part of her shirt and wraps it around her mouth and nose before examining the spot more carefully. "Um... Wait! I think... I need to check something! Where did Texas go? He was helping carry... uh... zer0?" Larissa trots off towards the medbay.
Valerie walks by with Jill, and you hadn't even noticed she left. They head back towards the hub.
"Um... So... Now what?" Francois asks. |

"Well, we can trail that water sample, but they don't need any help. I'm going to find out who is actually dead or alive." Head into the med bay. |

You start to head towards the Med Bay, but you're cut off by the intercom.
~Ding dong
dong ding~
"Attention. All participants are required to proceed to the central chamber immediately... Failure to comply within 2 minutes will result in summary removal from the program and the station, so get moving!"
You turn to Francois to find him already sprinting down the hall. The Bulgarian and the rest in Wildcat's Lab behind you throw open the door and come walking your way - briskly, definitely not worried in the least. Jogging. Just gotta be jogging.
As you arrive in the central chamber with seconds to spare, you find the others all trickling in from different directions. Texas is the last to arrive, the unconscious girl slung over one shoulder. Valerie is supporting a groggy, half-asleep Jill on one shoulder. Everyone waits to see what will happen next. |

Two days later, and Wildcat still hasn't recovered. As you head to breakfast you can't help staring at the obnoxious giant timer covering the window. Right now, Zarv and Jill should be in the medbay. Next up is Anne Jean and Janean. The Jean Sisters. Fortunately, you aren't up until this evening, so you should have time to get up to some mischief. |

You head to the bathroom to check the water purifier. You give it a look and it seems to be functioning fine now. There's no sign of any more tampering.
Francois follows you into the bathroom. "Hey, uh, I just wanted to thank you again for, y'know, believing me the other day?" he says. "Anyway, uh, let's work together to survive, OK?" |

"Y-yeah, but... one person already tried to kill us, we... need... to... be careful about who we trust..." Francois stammers. "Um... You seem to like the Ma... Mo... Mikoto lady? I guess if you trust her, I can trust a police... lady? Policelady?"
The speaker chimes on. "Diiiiing-dong, ding-dongs," AI-1c-e taunts. "Sleeping Beauty's awake. You've got 15 minutes until the execution, so ask your stupid questions.
"Oh..." Francois whimpers. "We knew this was coming... but I still haven't thought of anything to ask her. She's in the infirmary, right?" |
