Rishan breathes a sigh of relief "We're second huh not bad what matters most is passing good job team" They say nodding proudly at their group

Cantrelle looks back, having expected Iora to still be dealing with the Dagon but not expecting Selfless to be missing as well.
“Oh, for crying out loud… Do you think you can get the box the rest of the way there yourself? I can go check on the hooded guy, see if he’s helping Iora or something.”

Cantrelle ducks out of the way of the water, only managing to avoid some of it. As she hands Iora her shoes, she continues looking around.
“Where’d the hooded guy go?”

Rishan takes a deep breath and sits in the grass next to Fenian "Good work today we couldn't have done it without your help"

Rishan

Fenian looks up at Rishan.  "Oh.  Yes.  That is true.  It would have been difficult.  You would have had to fight the spriggan, or find another plan."


Selfless

You find Alice, box held over her head, marching through the forest.  She grunts at you, huffing and out of breath.  "We're not going back for them.  Iora's fine in water.  And Cantrelle knows what she's doing.  And we have our job.  And I... am... not... failing."  She grunts, picking up some speed.  "Just scout ahead and make sure there's no other surprises."


Cantrelle

"I dunnoooooo.  He was here and then he waaaaasn't.  I think he disappeared while I was underwater and fighting the daaaagon," Iora explains.  She pauses as she takes her shoes and stares at you, holding your wrists like a vice and leaning in until her face is only inches away from yours.  "Did you see anythiiiiiiing weird when you got here...?"

“N…no?” Cantrelle responds, both because she has no idea what Iora’s talking about and also because she’s scaring her a little. Pulling her hands back whenever Iora let’s go to put her shoes back on, she takes a moment to look around the area before sighing.
“Well, if they’re not here let’s go meet up with Alice. Maybe we’ll run into them on the way, and if we don’t we’ll probably need another pair of eyes to help.”

Cantrelle

"Hmmmmmmm.  Boooooop."  Iora leans in until her nose presses against yours, then lets you go and takes a few steps back, back to her usual vacant, smiley self.  "That's gooood.  I was kinda wooooorried for a minute."

You say you should catch up to Alice.

"Oh, that's a good ideeeeaaaa.  You should go on..."  Iora trails off hopefully until she realizes you didn't mean alone.  She sighs, exhausted already, and starts putting on her sandals.  "Okaaaay."

You lead the way back to Alice, then follow the obvious trail behind her.


Selfless

You go ahead of Alice, checking for any dangers.  A few minutes later, you hear giggling and the sounds of something flapping in the air.  As you look around, you don't see anything.  After a few seconds, you hear disembodied voices.  "Human?"

"Maybe!"

"But it doesn't have the box."

"Wrong human!"

"Are we sure it's human?"

"Who cares?  It's not a box!"

"Maybe they're trying to distract us."

"Like the spriggan?"

"Haha, what a fool!"

"Not like us, let's go find where it's sneaking around...!"

The voices disappear into the distance.  A few minutes later, Alice catches up to you.  From there, it's a short walk to the finish line.


Cantrelle

You and Iora catch up just as you're arriving at the finish line, surprised to find Alice still carrying the box despite her enhancement magic long since worn off.


Cantrelle, Selfless, Ray, Misha, Rishan

Selfless seems to appear behind all of you.  While you're distracted by Selfless, Alice comes around the last bend, box over her head, staggering forward.  Hero takes a few steps forwards to help her before he suddenly stops and stumbles, a vine wrapped around his ankle.  Niamh shakes her head at him.  She makes it the last few steps over the finish line and takes two steps before her legs buckle.  Hero, now freed, runs forward and grabs the box.  Balthazar joins him as they lower it to the ground.  Alice rolls over onto her back, panting.

Iora and Cantrelle arrive, jogging as the soldiers are going through the container.  They pull out a few jars containing what seem to be potions or salves of some sort, as well as bandages and some other assorted medical supplies.

"I see your magical supply is exhausted," Niamh says.  "I'd scold you for neglecting magical endurance training, but it seems you had enough physical endurance to make up for it this time."

"Uh-huh..." Alice grunts.

"Pass," the sergeant says.

"Yaaaaaay," Iora says.  She immediately flops down beside Alice.

"Yay," Alice echoes, weakly.
