*sigh* Final Fantasy X is hard… I'm currently dealing with a boss that has 70,000 HP, can cast Protect on himself, and has a combo that can instantly kill anyone regardless of how much health or defense they have (Lance of Atrophy inflicts Zombie, thus making that character take damage from healing, and Full-Life delivers a OHKO to the zombified character) and another attack that deals massive damage to the whole party. To put that 70,000 HP into perspective, my strongest character is hitting him for just a little over 1,000 damage. Summons don't even work since he just uses Banish to instantly kill them.

Allow me to help. The subjects name is... ? (Psst. I think he's asking you for the boss's name.)

(Psst. I think he's asking you for the boss's name.) Oh, okay. The boss is Seymour Flux.

Use the power of friendship to kill it!
Isn't that what kills everything in those stupid Final Fantasy games?

Use the power of friendship to kill it! Isn't that what kills everything in those stupid Final Fantasy games? Yeah, that's not working here. The power of friendship does absolutely nothing to save you from the boss getting three turns at once and using them to murder your entire party.

Okay, so I've gathered some information. This guy gets A LOT of turns. Poison should be useful here. It will hit him a bunch of times since he moves so much. For the zombie status, there are items and equipment that can block or cure it. This boss also likes magic a lot. Try silencing it. That should hold the magic at bay for a while. Theres a point where it will cast Reflect and the use offensive magic on itself to attack you. If a character is fast enough, you can get a chance to move at that point and dispel the reflect, causing it to hit itself. That same attack it reflects off itself is also super effective. Use it on Seymour. Finally, for that ultimate attack, you'll need to keep some reviving item or spell on hand. Cast some sort of protection on the character with the highest HP and have them defend. Everyone else will probably die, but that one character can revive them. Seems like an expensive boss fight, but does this help?

I didn't think about poison or silence (I didn't realize he was vulnerable to status conditions, and I haven't made it far enough into the fight for him to use magic), and it sounds like if I can grind up to get dispel, he should slaughter himself with his own spells (which honestly sounds hilarious). As for revivals, I have a ton of Phoenix Downs, but it sounds like I would have greatly profited from saving my Mega Phoenix (revives the whole party) that I used a while back. Thanks, I'll see if I can beat him with these tips!

HE'S DEAD!!! I KILLED HIM!!! media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m07dqpmyPV1r1fuq8.gifJust, the advice you gave me was extremely helpful. The Poison absolutely tore him apart, dispelling his reflect saved me from Flare while also giving me the satisfaction of watching him hurt himself, and his Total Annihlation attack left my strongest character with 98 Hp, so there is no way he would have survived that attack if I hadn't casted Protect on him right before the attack. Thank you very much!
