Hey guys, I just want to share some thoughts with you.
I don't think it's a secret, I think Pokemon should die temporarily. I don't like where the series is going since gen 6 and I think it would be beneficial if it died for a few years to get a strong revival.
But I'm not here to talk about my current opinion on Pokemon. I'm here to talk about those of you who are still Pokemon fans.
Let me just talk about Metroid Federation Force. Because I'm a Metroid fan. To keep it simple, people were angry about the artstyle and most fans boycotted the game. But not me. I gave it a chance and it's actually a great game if you have friends to play local multiplayer with.
So where am I going with this? As much as the cut Pokemon situation pisses you off, if Pokemon is your or one of your favorite series, give gen 8 a chance. You might find it fun even if you think there's no way it can be fun. I went into Federation Force with negative intents and was happy in the end and I will defend that game with all my breath.
Maybe gen 8 will be the same for you Pokemon fans.

I’ll probably still give it a chance (especially since Pokemon is way too popular for enough people to boycott) and odds are it’ll still be enjoyable enough, but I definitely agree with you that Pokemon’s been on a decline since gen 6. If I’m not mistaken that’s also when Masuda was put in charge who’s had a history of saying concerning things in interviews, so it doesn’t exactly feel hard to figure out what the problem is...

Eh, I don't like the fact that not all Pokemon are in the game or can be brought in with Pokebank, but I can easily understand why. I don't think there are any ulterior motives for it. It's simply because it's the first title on the Switch. I'm still going to play the hell out of it and have fun, and personally, I'm still very hyped and excited for Sword and Shield. I don't really care about Dynamax one way or the other, but the Treehouse gameplay made it obvious that it's optional and you can beat Dynamax Pokemon without it, so I'm not bothered. It's still a Pokemon game, and it looks like it will have a lot of content so I'm overall happy.

I know for sure I will get Pokemon Sword when it comes out (sword weilding Floof better Floof). I will also get the thrid version of Pokemon Sword and Shield or the updated version of it when it comes out.
But the thing is Mally Pokemon will never go away because it's way too popular.
Also at this point how can you really reboot/tweak/ redo Pokemon. At it's core its still the same game deep down. You can add EVs, abilities, new types, etc. because the very core of Pokemon is largely the same.
I will say I have been very disappointed with the post game material in the recent Pokemon. I think B2/W2 were the last ones to have a good post game. At this point I am tired of the same Battle Tower formula. I much rather just have something similar to what B2/W2 had in a World Championship thing where you can battle previous gym leaders, champs, etc. I enjoyed stuff like that where if we are going to have battles make them worth it and not some random nobody.
For me I prefer a nice fleshed out post game because it gives a reason to come back and actually care about training and catching Pokemon
