Jonathan quickly snaps up one of the monsters in his whip and wraps it around them, pulling them into Frostoise's Frozen Claw for a powerful combo! The engaged Shadow Beast shift its attention to you along with the other Shadow Beast that was attacking Gerand. "They...Spark is gone...? That doesn't make sense! Note Beasts aren't supposed to die like that! I won't forgive them for this!" Gerand stands by you, ready to fight the monsters as well.

Jonathan Lashes one of them. Frostoise walks over to the other one and feints a Frozen Claw, only to then Shell Guard against its attack if it dodges and counters or to Frozen Claw with the other front leg instead of the first if it moves to one side but doesn't counter. I'm willing to bet that the other two learned about how Frostoise attacks when they saw him kill the first one, so I'm going to have to outwit them.

Frostoise runs in to grab the attention of the enemies, faking out a claw attack on one of the Shadow Beasts before going into his shell as the Shadow Beast meets him with a claw right back before the other Shadow Beasts shoots a beam of some kind at Frostoise. Luckily, it seems Shell Guard was enough to protect him! Jonathan ends the round with a quick whip on the Shadow Beast as Gerand finishes the weakened beast with a knife jab. It falls to the ground, dead. The original combo move must have done a lot of damage. Now there's only one beast, but it's aware of everyone now.

I think I have a really interesting idea to do some serious damage to this last one. Frostoise will use Shell Guard again, but this time Jonathan will use Grab on Frostoise (considering that the kick isn't very damaging it shouldn't do any damage) to throw him, still in his shell, at the last shadow beast.

Jonathan uses his whip to grab Frostoise as he goes in his shell. He then quickly pulls Frostoise toward him before kicking the ice shell right at the Shadow Beast, dealing a great amount of damage! It wasn't an easy combo, but you pulled it off! (I feel like this is Chrono Trigger and you're using Dual Techs!) Gerand then finishes off the final beast with his knife. The battle is over...but the victory feels empty. There are more Shadow Beasts appearing...! You better keep moving!

(I feel like this is Chrono Trigger and you're using Dual Techs!) Yeah, the dual techs in that game have definitely given me some inspiration for attacks. Anyways, let's keep moving and see if we can find anyone else still alive. That should be our first priority, then we should protect the altar. While searching, Jonathan will ask Gerand how they ended up back here, since when he went to bed he was in a hotel at Melodis.

Jonathan and Gerand quickly move about the base, heading to the forge to check if the forgekeeper is alright. As they run, Jonathan asks Gerand his question. "I have no idea...I was at the inn and then suddenly I woke up at home fighting these monsters and Spark...They got him somehow...he was trying to protect me and they..." Gerand trails off as you enter the forge. A Shadow Beast stands in the forge, over a robot creature that got a large gash in the center of it, sparks flying out everywhere. The Shadow Beast looks like it just had a long struggle and as a blast of sparks fly at it from the broken robot, it collapses, defeated. "That robot used to make our weapons. Did he really fight off this many shadows to protect us...?" You can count four dead shadows in the room. The weapons are all smashed and shattered around the room as well...it seems your own personal forge has been destroyed entirely...

"Let's get to the altar. I don't think we can do anything about the forgekeeper, and we need to protect the altar."

"You're right...this might be those thieves. I told Hurain to be careful..." You both run out of the forge and notice...it's raining...red. You run to the main building with Gerand. It feels unnaturally cold in here. As you walk around the first floor, you notice the desk where Hurain does his papers has...an inkwell of red...the papers...written in red...footprints to the door...in red. The footprints lead to the next room. The one where the alter is kept. "What...happened...?" You pick up the mysterious paper and start reading it. This is...! The lost pages in that book on Symphony Summoning...written in blood...! Do you dare to read them...?

"Hang on, I need to read these. There could be something else this is about, and if so I need to know what all of us might be up against." Jonathan quickly reads the paper, and tells Gerand to go check the altar (for the record, alter is a different word. Sorry about the grammar nazi moment, but that's been pestering me) while he's reading and shout if he needs help.

You read the bloodstained pages...
Symphony Summoning is a forbidden art. When many conductors work together to summon a large monster, it is called Symphony Summoning. This creates a monster so powerful it consumes the Conductors and their Note Beasts after summoned. These creatures are said to be the greatest offense and defense.
That's all. You pace the papers down and look over as Gerand opens the door, heading inside as you instructed only to hear him call out for help as a blast of freezing air blows from the room, causing Gerand to be knocked unconcious! Naturally, you run to his side to help him, moving him out of the way and entering the altar room. There, you see the entire room isn't the altar room anymore. It's a large room covered in ice. The floor, the wall, everything is pure ice! You find yourself looking directly into the eyes of a huge sea dragon. The beast has large claws it walks on and a long neck. Its mouth is full of sharp teeth and its long tail sways from side to side in an aggressive manner. The eyes glow a menacing red color. Next to the dragon you see...Hurain. His eyes glow red as well and he's looking at you as if he's about to fight! "Leviathan...destroy them." The sea dragon roars and stomps on the ice.

Oh jeez, isn't it a bit early to be throwing this major of a boss at me, especially alone and with a single Note Beast? In any case, if I can take out Hurain that should also eliminate Leviathan, but that might mean killing him, and if this isn't a dream (the raining blood and the fact that this is a different place than I went to sleep at suggests that it might be, but there's still a chance this is real) than there would be very serious consequences to doing so. That being said, he probably doesn't have as much health as the giant dragon, and there's the possibility that he would just summon something else (or even another Leviathan like the Black Waltz 1 and Sealion fight) if I defeat it first, so he should be first priority. Grab on Hurain, with a Frozen Claw from Frostoise followed up by Jonathan kicking Hurain at Leviathan.

Jonathan quickly wraps his whip around Hurain, stopping the attack, he was readying as Frostoise combos into a Frozen Claw and knocks Hurain off into Leviathan. Hurain crashes into Leviathan's side, but the dragon doesn't flinch and keeps its eyes set on Jonathan. Leviathan blast a torrent of water from its mouth into Jonathan and Frostoise. The fore of the water knocks you both back and is pretty painful, leaving you feeling even colder in the room of ice. Hurain brushes himself off as he stands up from the ground. "Must destroy...the goddess's chosen." You aren't about to give in now! You were born in this sort of cold! This guy's going down!

"I don't know who you are or what you're talking about, but I'm not about to let you keep controlling Hurain!" I'm going to name Jonathan and Frostoise's team attack of kicking Frostoise at the enemy Shell Kick. Incidentally, I'm also going to use it on Hurain, while quickly kiting around Leviathan to make it harder for it to hit me with another breath attack.

Jonathan and Frostoise run across the ice coated floor, using the sliding property to easily move quickly around and dodging Leviathan's Ice Breath. He kicks Frostoise into Hurain. Hurain is knocked back by the shell, but quickly recovers and charges at Frostoise, using his Dual Slash to attack! Frostoise has a couplr of chinks in his ice shell, but he's still ready to go. "I am the truth. You will see that soon enough though."
