Vereor leads the group forward as Cinder follows behind, tripping over a root and crashing into a tree. With the two Sableye laughing at him, you all ignore it and continue on. While you keep moving through the forest, you spot an old house just up ahead. It seems like it will collapse if you just blow on it. This could be what you're looking for. Before you get a chance to further look around though, Cinder walks forward, suddenly jumping back in pain when he steps on something pointy! It was a Roselia! It's Poison Point seems to have poisoned Cinder as well! This curse has just given you the worst of luck. Already your health gauge is down into the yellow zone. A Shuppet appears from behind as well. It looks like you won't be able to run from this battle...

Cinder blows some flames on the Roselia along with Charcoal and they easily burn the shadow away. Meanwhile, Snorx finally gets to taste a ghost! He uses his tongue to lick the Shuppet, leaving it with an effective paralysis. Vereor finishes it with a wave of psychic energy. Hmm...ghost tastes very subtle, but it's something similar to airy bread, if that makes any sense.
Char: Take that! These ghosts aren't so scary!
As Char says this the whole team flashes in light. It seems their levels have gone up! They continue on, carefully, but inevitably, as Cinder walks in, eating his Oran Berry, he trips on a loose floorboard and with a loud thud, the Gastly they've been looking for is floating there, watching them and warned of their appearance! He's trying to escape! As he runs, two other Gastly appear to fight you. These ones are also real. If the running Gastly escapes, your mission will be a failure!
(Hold on while I update levels and check for new moves.)

Cinder shoots an Ember at the fleeing Gastly if he can. If not, he will do so on one of the ones blocking us. I would use Howl, but since I don't have Flame Charge yet there wouldn't be much of a point.

Can I invoke auto-move? I'm really not sure what to do here. I feel that most of my options here have their own benefits and risks, which mostly makes them their own unique gambles.

The Gastly continues to run away as Cinder sends some fire his way, but one of the other Gastly move in the way to get hit instead. Snorx is busy holding the other Gastly blocking the way and licking him. Char finishes the Gastly Snorx attacked with his fire as Vereor disappears, quickly reappearing in front of the running Gastly and knocking him back! Now you've got the last two Gastly surrounded! There's no way they can escape now! Go for it!
