This is just my opinion, but I'm thinking that our party should be:
Dave (Unless I'm horribly mistaken, I think this is a Mario floor)
Link (He must have at least SOME Mushroom Kingdom status)
Sunny (Mushroom heads and flower heads, amirite???????)
I dunno who else would be tailored specifically for this, so any other character is fine.

Plague Knight leads the group out to the festival going on. Dave, Link, and Sunny all go as well. Well, this is strange. It seems it's all festival games and such. From here, you can see some booths to exchange points won in games. There seems to be races of some kind, a circus looking tent, a place with tribal-like dancing, and a giant...robot?

Agreed. Who's our best soda drinker? We could enter them in the contest and earn some silver points. Afterwards, how about we fight Gato and then see if we can find Crono? |

I don't think anyone we have would necessarily be the best soda drinker...
I'd say either Sunny because she's a flower or Dave because I don't know a thing about him.

Well now after we had a good drink lets split up and explore.
Link should investigate the circus tent in case it's a boss battle against the Histocrats (those regal looking snake from Mario World 3D), or that clown thing with all those bloob like things. Link would be the best prepared for any surprises.
Sunny should go investigate the tribal dancing thing because coming from Parapapa town and is probably the best dancer amoungst the 4.
Dave should go ahead and play different booth games or at least check it out because he's a cool ass Paratroopa.
Plaque Knight checks out the giant Brobot because if it is hostile at least he has Pokemon and exploring potions

Beat him up and earn 15 Silver Points. (In all seriousness, although he would fight us if we wanted to, it would be for fun and he wouldn't kill us even if he had the chance. In Chrono Trigger he was an optional tutorial for the combat system that would also reward you if you defeated him.) Meanwhile, the tent is likely either Norstein Beckkler or someone similar. He let's you play minigames, but only if you have enough Silver Points. In any case, sure, Plague Knight should go check him out. He's more than a match for Gato. |

Dave goes to a man drinking soda and challenges him to a contest to see who can drink the most in the least amount of time. They each bet ten Silver Points and go for it. Within only a few minutes, Dave has gulped down at least eight drinks and he destroys the unknown man in the competition. He earns the ten points, moving on to playing simple booth games. Most are throwing darts at balloons or ring toss or those types of things. He plays a test your strength game as well, winning a few points there as well.
Sunny decides to go dance with the tribal Shy Guys. It's a fun dance and she learns it pretty quickly. The Shy Guys are all fairly impressed and continue to dance with her. She's challenged, however, by an unexpected dancer! A Ludicolo challenges Sunny to a dance off!
Plague Knight heads on over to Gato and the large robot starts singing about his metal joints. If you beat him, you'll earn fifteen points! Plague Knight and Gato then start a fight with Gato continuing to sing, giving Plague Knight the first strike.
Link heads over to the tent and finds that Toadette is inside. "Welcome to Toadette's Tent of Trials! If you pay a certain amount of points, you can try one of the obstacle courses! There's ten points for the Simple Course, twenty five for the Puzzle Course, fifty for the Battle Course, and one hundred for the Challenging Course!" Toadette hands Link a Silver Points Card. It looks like someone already earned your team 20 points. It automatically updates with your party's actions!

Plague Knight bursts up and over Gato, using Drop Casing (dropped below him) bombs with Sparkler Powder (spark intermittently, doing damage to any enemy in contact each time) with Long Fuses (self-explanatory). Since Gato never moves from the spot he's standing in these should hit multiple times and do some good total damage. Since you can only have three bombs with Sparkler Powder on screen at a time, he will toss those out when above Gato, drink some Leech Liquid (if he gets hit that should easily heal away the damage), and then focus on dodging until the bombs stop sparking.

Plague Knight leaps over Gato, tossing out bombs all around Gato and landing behind him. As Gato uses a punch, Plague Knight uses his Leech Liquid to heal himself while the damage is taken, canceling it out. Gato is soon defeated by the bombs, unable to do anything. He takes out a microphone and sings before awarding you fifteen points as promised!

Plague Knight goes off to find someone to recruit. Not much seems to be happening out of the ordinary though. Among the sea of Toads, you notice a woman with blonde hair and a man with her with exceptionally spiky and orangish red hair. They're just playing games though. There also seems to be some sort of display of something you didn't notice before. A girl has made a teleportation machine? Oh, and there also appears to be an elderly Toad panicking and looking around the festival frantically.
(You know you can throw in commands for other characters as well, right?)
