(Take your time! You'll get a nice level up and some time to relax afterward along with a chance shop at the academy.) (Unless I can't think of anything, in which case it's back to square one with a new character.)

Well, let's see. Three attacks on Frostoise One on Jonathan There's also the fact that he has to get close to do anything, but since he can disappear that isn't a problem for him.

He's slicing with a knife, once for Dark Blade and multiple times with Knife Dance. If I had a way to take it from him I could keep him from attacking, but I don't have that yet (funnily enough, that was going to be my next learned ability). I could have Frostoise block him with Shell Guard and then Jonathan could finish him off with Lash while he's recoiling from the failed attack, but if that doesn't work (if he anticipates this and goes around Frostoise for example), I'm dead. Two thirds of his abilities also revolve around darkness, but since I don't have a way to create light I'm guessing that's not the solution. Finally, he can disappear, which is my biggest worry. If he does that I won't be able to tell where to block from and he could easily finish me off, and I have no idea how to counter that.

Let me get back to you some time tomorrow, but I don't think I'm going to figure it out at 8:33 PM. It's too late for analyzing a boss's attacks and making a life or death decision.

Alright, time to analyze some more. Every other turn he disappears, meaning that if that's the case I won't be able to hit him this turn and he is guaranteed to kill me next turn. This, however, seems unlikely, as it would mean that the situation is unwinnable now and I doubt you would build up the possibility of landing a decisive blow to end it if there was no way to win. The other possibility is that he disappears whenever targeted. If that is the case, then if I was in a room with a chandelier or something I could use that to take him out, but I highly doubt there's anything above him here, meaning that I'll instead have to do something to break his concentration and land an attack before he vanishes. This leaves me with two ideas that might stand a chance of working: 1: Like I said before, bait him into attacking Frostoise, block with Shell Guard (cracks are just now starting to show up, so he probably still has enough health to take whatever Gera would throw at him) and then quickly attack with Lash while he's recoiling from the attack. 2: Use Lash on the lever, thus speeding up the train, and then follow up with either another Lash or Frozen Claw when he loses his balance for a moment. This both runs the risk of him mistaking the attack as being aimed at him and vanishing anyways, and that if we're too close to a station we'll crash, so it's definitely not ideal, but something tells me the lever isn't just here for nothing.

Well, which is your final decision?

I think I'm going to have to go with Frostoise intercepting with Shell Guard and Jonathan finishing him off with Lash. It's incredibly risky, and I'm not sure it will work, but it's the best option I can see.

Jonathan prepares himself as Frostoise takes the front. They watch as Gera disappears expectedly. Then Frostoise stands behind Jonathan and uses Shell Guard. Gera appears, hitting Frostoise with his attacks as Frostoise gains more gashes in his shell. Then Jonathan takes this chance! He catches Gera with his whip and combos with a Frozen Claw! "GAH! I am bested!" Gera falls over and is defeated as well. You beat the Shadow Trio!

Jonathan's new skill: Steal Jonathan uses his whip to grab and steal something from an enemy. If the stolen item is their weapon, lowers their attack stat by forcing them to fight unarmed. If the stolen item is a part of the enemy (such as a Tanglerose vine or a bird's feather), does mild damage to the enemy.
Frostoise's new skill: Refreeze Frostoise chills the air around himself, using the cold air to repair himself. Heals user and deals minor ice damage to enemies that use melee attacks that turn (unless weapon is long enough to deliver a melee attack without getting too close, like a spear).
Are either of these too overpowered? I wanted to give Jonathan a steal ability that's better than normal along with a healing ability for Frostoise, but if either of those are too much I can come up with something else.

Those seem fine. Neither seem too powerful, but seem useful.
