Clyde sees the flames and uses Gust, mostly targeted towards the flames to hopefully blow them away somewhat.

Paula dashes over to the front of Ho-Oh as fast as she can before shocking the living Pika Pika out of Ho-Oh! She does her absolute best to attack it for all her friends as Clyde and Vereor join in to try and stop Ho-Oh, blowing powerful winds at it and charging forward to scare it. Ho-Oh seems immune to flinching, however, and the wind only fans the flames! The attack being charged becomes more powerful and Ho-Oh unleashes Sacred Flame! The ledge everyone is on erupts into flames and everyone is knocked out as the gauges fall to red. But wait...there's still hope. One Pokemon is left standing. Snorx managed to avoid the attack by hanging off the nearby ledge. He jumps back onto the ledge and stands to face the Shadow Ho-Oh. It's up to him to end this.

Snorx: "Electricity powerful on enemy!"
Snorx will quickly give his Oran Berry to Paula before using Metronome.
Snorx: "All or nothing meanie!"

Snorx hands Paula his Oran Berry before waving his hand rapidly back and forth in Metronome. Ho-Oh is charging another attack and glowing. When Snorx finishes his Metronome, he's surrounded in blue electricity with lightning bolts shooting away from him before he charges right into Ho-Oh for a full body tackle, sending the powerful electricity blasting all over Ho-Oh! This attack is none other than Fusion Bolt. The Pokemon lets out a loud cry before falling down off the side of the mountain. As it falls, you can see the darkness floating off of it before there's a crash heard. Shadow Ho-Oh has been defeated. With what strength you all have left, everyone manages to get to their feet. It was a difficult battle, but in the end, you won. Now there is only the matter of the Shadow Gem. What are you going to do with it. Will you destroy the gem or keep it? Perhaps you have something else in mind?
(Everyone gained two levels. Let me check for new moves.)

...I see how it is.
...Looks like we'll have to have some sort of battle or something between you all to decide who gets all these characters. In the mean time, I'll just allocate the moves myself.
Vereor learned Confuse Ray and forgot Growl!
Clyde decided not to learn Focus Energy.
Everyone returned home with the Shadow Gem.
