I've seen one or two people thinking about making a small new game to keep things running, and I think I have an interesting idea. The way I see it, two things that seem to make a game more effort to run are a large cast of characters and a serious, well thought out plot. Thus, why not try a game with neither?
Each player is limited to a single character: themself as portrayed on Vitcon. We have all of the abilities and items from Vitcon Vending Machine, Seasons of the Abyss, and anything that might tie in to a running gag or something commonly done by that player. For example, Yoshi would be a Yoshi and have abilities such as swallowin enemies or Ground Pounding, I would have Chaos Control, and Deisel would be able to make various things related to Rock and Roll happen. One limitation, however, is that we can't bring any of our characters in (partially to keep Pie from bringing in Hitler, but also to keep the character count low).
The plot would be a blatant excuse plot. Something bad happens, and since none of us have anything better to do with the current hiatus we all decide to go stop it. There's no fourth wall, and things tend to just happen. Basically, think Seasons of the Abyss but as an actual game rather than a unique take on a social topic and without cameos. Hell, if could even tie in with us getting out of the tube (although with the cameos either retconned out or leaving with Fawful carrying Hitler away, and that is not a sentence I ever expected to type).
In all honesty this is probably a stupid idea, but it might just be stupid enough to be entertaining and keep everyone occupied.
