There are two reasons why rowlet's final form is a ghost type.
1. It is based on the stilt owl, a species of owl native to hawaii that is currently extinct, so it is literally a ghost of an extinct owl
2. the word Owl in Indonesian is a fusion of the indonesian words for Ghost amd Bird

so i found what i think is Decidueye's inspiration
it could be based on a Hawaiian legend known simply as "The Owl and the Rat and the boy who was good at shooting arrows" (yes that is the full title) where a Spirit Owl Hired a Boy (who was known throughout the entirety of Hawaii for being good at shooting rats with a bow and arrow) to Imprison a Spirit Rat with an Arrow, the arrow got caught on the Rat's Whiskers, immobilizing the rat and imprisoning it

You can join the sheep level tournament instead. There's a non competitive tournament and a competitive tournament. The only rules are no one hit KO moves and no moves that change evasion or accuracy.

Guess who got a female Popplio in only 9 tries? It's got a Bashful nature, so while it's not going to be benefitting from its nature at least it won't be getting lower stat growths on anything.
