Mosquito throws his helmet on the Red Chocobo's head so he doesn't see anything. (With 10 Dexterity, he should succeed)

Terrible's Chocobo starts sprinting forward while he throws his helmet onto the Red Chocobo's head. It can't see very well, but Rose continues to control its motions and lead it around. She then takes the helmet off of her Chocobo once she has time. It looks like you're getting close to Rose and both you and Rose are getting close to King Cactuar. Gray and the Cactuar are pretty far behind now...

Terrible throws his shield, but the Red Chocobo just jumps over it. Everyone is nearing an oasis. It looks like you'll have to either swim or fly across. King Cactuar starts running across the top of the water.

Just fly over the oasis.

Terrible gets his Chocobo to jump up high and flap its wings, flying over the oasis. Rose's Chocobo is still in front of you though! It seems it's fast in the air and on the ground! King Cactuar continues to run across the water with all the other Cactuar, but something is moving incredibly fast through the water! Suddenly, a huge waves splashes over and knocks everyone into the water and you all see the Blue Chocobo managed to swim fast enough to get in front of the King Cactuar! Everyone gets out of the water and continues to run with the Blue Chocobo in the lead. Rose's Chocobo looks like it's starting to get tired. There's a sharp turn up ahead!

(Ugh... I'm not sure hot to explains my next turn...)
Fly over the offroad to ignore the sharp turn.
Basically what I'm doing is like using a mushroom in Mario Kart to avoid a curve.

Terrible's Chocobo jumps up and flies over the turn, skipping a lot of track he needs to run, but losing lots of stamina as well. It looks like Rose's Chocobo got tired and is running slower while Gray's naturally slower Chocobo is falling behind as well. Terrible is just behind the King Cactuar. His Chocobo is getting tired, but they're almost at the finish line!

Talia: "Papa! I see the finish line! It's time for our super secret technique."
Mosquito: "Huh?"
Talia whispers something in Mosquito's ear.
Mosquito: "WHAT? I'M NOT DOING THAT!"
Talia makes puppy eyes.
Talia: "Please.. I want to win this race!"
Mosquito: "ARRRRRGH... FINE!"
Mosquito runs on the Chocobo's head, jumps towards the finish line and throws Talia on the other side of the finish line.
Talia: "YAY!"

Terrible unleashes his ultimate technique and throws Talia across the finish line. With her just barely beating the Cactuar King, Terrible gains a leaf symbol on his forehead and the King Cactuar summon. He and the others then head on over to Rainfall.

Mosquito approaches Rose after picking Talia back up.
Mosquito: "Hey there! You did great, this was really fun.
We can race again sometimes if you want."
Talia falls asleep while they go back to Rainfall.
