Kardus Vs. Zombie Darkus

Zombie Darkus jumps forward and tries to hit Kardus with his hammer, but Kardus manages to block with a barrier. Darkus switches through his lance, sword, and hammer repetitively unleashing many blows on Kardus, but all are blocked by his barriers. Even though he blocked them to lessen damage, Kardus still looks tired and is sweating. "I see you copied his fighting style too." Kardus then throws a cloud of darkness to attach onto Zombie Darkus while jumping out of the way of Zombie Darkus' hammer. Kardus then traps Zombie Darkus inside of a cloud of darkness, absorbing his health to heal himself.

"I'm proud to see my son is such a powerful fighter. Too bad he's on the wrong side." Zombie Darkus throws his knives at Kardus, damaging him. Zombie Darkus then takes out an axe and jumps forward, trying to cleave Kardus in two. Luckily, he makes a shield in time while taking the knives out and draining more of Zombie Darkus' energy.

"Don't pretend to be my father. You're just a shell!" Kardus causes shadow knives to rain down from the sky onto Zombie Darkus before explosions of blood surround him as well.

"That's no way to speak to your father. I'll just have to teach you a lesson!" Darkus takes out his hammer again and smashes it into the ground as a wave of rocks fly up into Kardus, throwing him off guard as Zombie Darkus follows with a lance jab. Kardus is hit right in the stomach. "You know...this is exactly how I died. By this exact same lance too. How precious to die in the same way together. Don't you agree, Kardus...? Son...?"

"Gah...! I won't...give up...I will fight...FOR FATHER!" Kardus absorbs more health out of Zombie Darkus before a contract appears over his head with his name above it. As the paper is set ablaze and burns up in black flames, a powerful demon is summoned. Kardus' demon slashes at Zombie Darkus to knock him back and get the lance out of Kardus. Kardus drains more of Kardus' health with bursts of shadows all around him. Kardus' demon then unleashes a series of powerful blows using its six arms before throwing down black flames around Zombie Darkus. "I told you I wasn't going to give up."

"Then it's a fight to the finish!" Zombie Darkus jumps up high in the air before falling down and slashing Kardus, but he manage to protect himself with a barrier. Kardus then sends an evil spirit to keep Zombie Darkus distracted before Kardus' demon unleashes more powerful strikes with his swords. Zombie Darkus stumbles a bit. "I have no choice but to unleash my ultimate power." Zombie Darkus leaps up high in the air as darkness flows around him. Red lightning zaps around Zombie Darkus as he floats up in the air. "By depleting my own life...I will destroy you!" Zombie Darkus then drops down from the sky at a speed that makes him look like two different Darkuses. As he lands down onto Kardus' barrier, it shatters apart, but luckily it was blocked! Wait...Zombie Darkus can use that move twice in a row!? A second Darkus falls rapidly toward Kardus and as he shields his face, he hears a loud slashing sound. Zombie Darkus is impaled by the demon's six blades. Darkus looks up, surprised, before the demon throws Zombie Darkus on the ground and causes a powerful explosion of black flames around him. When the dust finally clears away, Kardus can see the Dark Lord energy dissolve away from Darkus. Kardus' demon disappears as he runs toward Darkus.



As he approaches, he still looks somewhat tense from battle, but Darkus looks up to him calmly with a smile. His face can be seen now that his helmet has been completely shattered to pieces. Darkus' hammer lies on the ground, broken in two. Kardus looks at his father before dropping his tome on the floor and running to him. "Father! Is that really you? The darkness is gone..."

"Yes...it's me. Kardus...I'm so proud of you. You have become so powerful. You beat me in battle. It looks like not even the royal guard could stop you, huh...?"

"You're proud of me...? Father, please try to stay awake! I'm right here. You don't have to go."

"You're so kind, Kardus. Just like your mother. But please don't be sad. My time was up on this world a long time ago. I'm lucky to have time to speak with you before I go...Kardus. I'm so proud of what you've accomplished. You're a real hero, you know...? Just look how far you've come. I hope you continue to go farther..."

"Yes, I will! I'll do anything, just don't go again!"

"I can't control that, Kardus...you know I can't. It's almost time for me to go...but please promise me one more thing so I can rest in peace...promise me you will see this through to the end...no matter what...and please...don't blame Lupis...it's not his fault...Can you promise me...you won't blame him...?"

"...Yes. I can. I will. I promise. I will end this war for you. I'll end it at Lupis' side."

"...Thanks, kiddo...now I can rest...peacefully..." Darkus falls limp as a single tear falls down his face. Kardus sits there and looks down at his father with tears in his eyes.

"I promise you! I won't ever forget what you told me father! I will never forget...This won't be for nothing. I swear it..." Kardus slowly gets to his feet and picks up his book. He walks away from the room, turning back only once before saying goodbye...
