The group heads out into the desert road toward Magis, but finds that there are a few monsters in the way. As they draw their weapons, the adventurers prepare for battle. "I've got your back, Forrest! If you need me to help out or if you're feeling low on health, just switch out with me. I'll be supporting you all the way!"

What are the Smoke Bombs made of? I'm trying to decide if I should throw one in the gaping mouth of the Sandworm so it chokes to death on the smoke filling its lungs.

Hmmm I guess for now....
Aqua will use draining fang on Sandworm. Aqua only moves in when he can do so safely.
Sara: Does dancing blade attack allies or was that a mistype?
For now use dancing blade on Caturn and be ready to take evasive movements

It damages an enemy, not an ally. Sorry about that.
The smoke bombs don't really make painful coughing smoke. They're more like fog bombs. You can always just use a normal attack. Smoke Bomb is most useful for dodging rather than attacking.

Talia: "Goblins aren't that bad. They should go down fast. The Sandworm is more dangerous."
Talia will use Seed Bullet on the Sandworm (PS: It says Ricochet is passive, so it should also hit one of the goblins.)
(Is Zu a weird giant bird?)
Hector will use Charging Strike on the Zu.

Indigo quickly jumps forward and jabs at a Goblin Mage, knocking it out. Forrest throws down a smoke bomb and disappears before reappearing behind the Sandworm and slashing it with his knives. Aqua quickly runs toward the Sandworm and then bites it, absorbing its health. Aqua also learned a new ability! He stomps on the ground with his front paws before howling and causing sand to shoot into the Sandworm's face. It's been blinded! Aqua's new ability is named Sand Stream. Talia shoots a bullet at the Sandworm, causing seeds to scatter through it. Some of the seeds fly out of the worm and hit the Goblin Mage. Raven then smacks the Goblin Mage with her staff, finishing it off. The group then finds themselves facing new opponents. A Zu and two Cactuar appear. Kress barks. (Switch out with me, Aqua! My fire ability should knock out those Cactuar quickly!)
Havid scatters spikes among the enemies. Sara starts dancing around the Zu, slashing at it with her sword. Silver runs past the Zu, slashing it with his knives. Hector charges in on his bear, running past the Zu while stabbing it with his lance. The Zu falls to the ground and is defeated. Eaudi summons a small, blue flame as it attacks one of the Cactuars. The other Cactuar throws a poisonous needle at Havid. He gets hurt and is poisoned, but the Cactuar stepped on his spikes and is defeated. A Sandworm then suddenly comes up out of the ground with a couple of Goblin Mages following behind. "Havid, you're poisoned. Switch to the back and take some time to rest. You'll only get hurt more if you keep fighting."
(If an active party member is hit with a status effect, they can switch with a support party member not affected by the status effect. They also will not be injured by effects like Burn and Poison while in the support party.)
