This isn't truly a gameplay demo because there's no actual gameplay shown, but I just wanted to reveal some of the mechanics and stuff about the game over time. Maybe I'll post actual gameplay later.
Anyways, this is what I expect sign ups to look like
Cabbie Name: (Come on, give me your driver's name!)
Appearance: (We dealing with an ugly cabbie or hot cabbie here? Oh yeah, you also have complete creative freedom. They can be aliens or robots or like Verians, etc.)
Backstory: (How'd your cabbie become a cabbie?)
Cabbies do NOT influence gameplay. All gameplay is influenced by the taxi being driven.
Taxi Name: (Come on, every beast of burden needs a name!)
Appearance: (What kind of taxi we rolling in here?)
Stats: (Assign points towards the taxi's stats. Each stat has a max of 10 and a minimum of 0. You have 50 points to spend.)
Taxi Stats:
Health (How much punishment your taxi can take before having to retire)
Speed (Your taxi's top speed)
Acceleration (How fast your taxi approaches its top speed)
Deceleration (How fast your taxi goes from max speed to zero; important for braking!)
Weight (Determines how much your taxi will get thrown around when it crashes into something. Higher weighing vehicles may even be able to barrel through other cars and obstacles like no problem)
Style (Determines how slowly the passenger's TP decreases. If it reaches 0, you just lost your fare!)
Handling (How easily your taxi can be maneuvered)
Drift (Higher drift means your taxi can take tighter turns and not have to slow down as much to take a turn)
Boost (A higher Boost means your taxi will benefit from longer and faster Boosts. Boosts can be triggered from a variety of methods such as drifting for a long time, using nitro boosts, activating certain items and skills, etc)
I mentioned TP back there. Your passenger has a meter for what's called their Tolerance Points. It's essentially a health bar for the passenger. The longer your trip takes, the more their TP decreases. TP loss can be slowed with items or skills or a high Style stat, and TP can be gained by doing cool stuff and tricks like driving dangerously close to other vehicles, taking ramps, drifting, etc.
