Okay well this is my attempt at paper smash but instead of giving you guys a character and having chapters based around an area on one of the popular franchises. Each area is going to be its own little world with multiple crossovers relating to that world taking place. In a way this is going to be Virtual World meets Paper Smash since the adventure will be taking place in both the real world and the smash world.
Hmm if I had to think of a way to describe this game its a combination of Paper Smash, Virtual World (there is a real world and another world the Smash World) and even a little Cementary gates too it also (there is one central hub aka Real World and many portals, access points to the different worlds, there is no set chapters per say certain worlds will not open til you clear a certain amount of worlds first but the interactions are very open ended. In fact not everybody has to do the same world at once. For example some can go to the Mushroom Kingdom while some go to Hyrule. In fact you don't even have to complete a world to go over to a different world. But be warned other worlds wouldn't open until a certain amount of worlds are officially cleared. Usually just beating the world boss is all that is needed.
The real world is under attack by Tabuu, Master Hand, and Crazy Hand and varouis villans that were not playable characters in Smash (mainly because villans like Bowser, Ganondorf, Wolf, etc. are playable characters.)
Now some franchises I am not really familiar with at all so if you want a world based off of Earthbound, F Zero, Mega Man (know a bit but well more info cant hurt) etc.
Now you might be thinking the real world how are we suppose to fight (fighting polygons, the wire framed fighters etc.) well you start with two characters and while fighting in the real world you channel the power of the fighter. (Think in a sense Power Rangers). When you are in the Smash world (areas like Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, etc.) the player along with his fighter fight as one.
Now unlikr previous games if your character is KO they are done. Well here if a fighter gets KO or if in the real world the fighter you are fighting as gets KO. The fighter is unavailable until you go to a place to restore them (basically think a Pokemon Center but for Smash characters). If your entire party including player is wiped out the PC is considered KO until they are rescued by another PC. If everyone in the party is KO then it's essentially a Game Over but everyone restarts back at the home base. There are revival items but they are scattered, expensive and hard to come by.
I do plan on having shops to buy items to heal, gain new characters, badges aka equipment, mostly anything.
Another thing I am implementing too is the Smash Ball. In order to execute a Final Smash or a Finisher (custom Final Smash can be as OP as you want) it will cost you a Smash Ball. Smash balls will be given away as rewards for completing challenges, sold at stores (but expect it to cost you a pretty penny. Hey this stuff dosen't come cheap).
So there are some stuff I still wanna work put before I make an offical sign up sheet. Also if you guys have any ideas, suggestions, comments feel free. Even though I am trying to reboot Paper Smash this game belongs to you guys. So I want it to feel like your game just as much as my game. Its meant to be very interactive and to feel like the game belongs to the player. Any and all ideas within reason of course will be considered and I will always leave it to you guys to decide if its something you want in or not.
So I know this is a lot for just an OP (I am at work looking to stay awake til 530 )
Any suggestions, comments, ideas, anything feel free to make it here. The idea is still in it's planning phase and its not something I am looking to rush into until everything is ready to go.
