It's not like you can't have any sort of development with other characters. Hell, Morgan almost always ends her interactions with an emotional breakdown of some kind. But you won't get a summon from there. Somnis was not a limitation made with the game, she was an addition to make it better because Verse players wanted to play. I am not limiting character development or summons, I'm giving you an entire social link dedicated to your character and the chance to obtain new summons that weren't possible before.
That's why nothing is changing. It makes sense from both a mechanics and story aspect. It wouldn't make sense to unleash two summons at once since that would be messy and someone needs to be calm in order for this system to work. I know I said that you don't need a boss fight for it, and you don't. But rank 10 is special. It always represents an important growth in a character. It's not easily coordinated with multiple people at a time and feels really forced without a gradual incline of change. That's why things are the way they are. Plus, this makes it fair for everyone. In fact, it makes it easier for everyone other than Somnis since she needs rank 10 with EVERYONE before she can get a summon of her own.
It's very often that there are complaints about Somnis, but almost none of you have spent time with her let alone seen things from her perspective. We make jokes about her pushing people in fountains, but everything she does makes sense if you'd let her explain or even spent time with her for once. She's actually REALLY smart and the kindest player character I've seen so far. So I wouldn't automatically dismiss her as "meh it's that idiot." Spend some time with her. Get to Rank 2. Nobody is going to screw you over intentionally. You KNOW the people that play as Somnis. Her actions aren't random. They're logical.

Yeah, I don't see Julia and Somnis ever getting along, especially since Somnis thinks Julia is the murderer. But Crow thinks Julia is the murderer. Somnis thinks that the murderer is whoever the collective votes say she thinks is the murderer. I don't actually think Julia's the murderer, it just made sense for her to jump to that conclusion and panic that one specific time then I ran with it out of character because I don't want to accuse my actual suspect. And it might be going a bit far to say Somnis' actions are logical. Maybe, like... 70% of the time... being generous... |

As a player, I have no problem with Somnis.
I have to say though, every interaction we had with her made Karl look like a genius, so she has a long road to go through to change Julia's perspective haha.

Still, I get the picture. If people hate Somnis that much, we can just remove her and have no summons instead.
And no dream-link to guardians, not have that help that time the team broke up, no Dogachu, be down a surprisingly potent fighter...
...It's actually really nice to have someone else defending Somnis for once. Even one of the people who controls her insults her regularly.

I just have a problem like how we have to be perfectly accepting of Somnis every action and she can do no wrong. Yet the one time someone dare hurts or lays a finger on Princess Somnis(for a perfectly legit reason hey i only pretended to like you so i could spy on you no hard feelings right) all but Mally stuck up for me. The rest of y'all were very quick to persecute Morgan and call for her head. Only Mally was understanding

And who's pretending to like who? I seem to remember her refusing to fight Zach, her #1 suspect, until learning he was a fake.

To be fair, I think if anyone punched anyone in the face, the reaction would be generally the same. But uh...Somnis never said anything about spying on anyone. The only thing she said about Morgan was something about where in one of her dreams she killed Solaria.

So its perfectly fine to go around and accuse random people of being murders. Hell she accused everyone at this point maybe Somnis is the murder.
Warn about a traitor well sorry didnt catch that part after she called you a killer yourself based only off a dream. So yeah sorry i missed that part. But fine next time she throws around wild accusations just for the hell of it yall deal with it

EDIT: Actually, now that I look at it, she said almost anyone could be the murderer. Even the dream guy. Or someone outside the group.
