"...That's not it. It was something I did a long time ago. My dad used to be a scientist. A researcher. You know, a smart guy. He had a cool lab and stuff. But when I was a kid, I was playing with Tom and convinced him to sneak into the lab with me. We were just playing, nobody meant to get hurt. But...I messed up. I must have gotten into something because I remember being really scared and something breaking. And then Tom was hurt really badly. My father got really angry with me. Dad got fired from his job and he was always distant after that. Tom...he has a scar now. Next to his right eye. He almost lost that eye because of me. Now he wears sunglasses to hide it from everyone. But...it's all my fault. I ruined everyone's lives. I just...I just can't do anything right..."

As you stand with Laura, a newfound strength grows within both of you. This bond gives you the strength to continue standing. Even in the most difficult of situations. You have reached relationship level 3 with Laura.
As you and Laura start to walk back home together, you notice Tom was standing and watching the whole time. "...Good job." He gives you a smile of approval as the two of you pass by. When you return home, Raine seems to be sitting in the living room, looking rather distressed still.
"Do you want to go talk to her? I can start making a new cake while you do that."

"I just feel bad that I yelled at her like that...I bottle up a lot of stuff inside and then it just becomes so much that I just...explode. I have a lot of stuff that goes on, but it's my problem, not anyone else's...so I don't talk about it much. It can get kind of stressful..."

When you return to the kitchen, you find Laura standing there and mixing the ingredients that are actually correct into the bowl and not mixing like a madwoman and spraying batter everywhere. Wow, she's actually doing it right.

Tab helps to clean up the kitchen and he finishes up the cake with Laura. After she finishes frosting it, the cake seems to be all done. "Alright! I'm all done. Do you want to try it? I didn't have any actual frosting, so I had to make some with something else I bought with Karl at the store!"
