(Tom! Laura! Stop making plans without telling me...)

You head over to Tom's house and meet up with him and Laura there. When you enter, you notice the two of them playing some sort of racing game on the television. Tom manages to win by hitting Laura with an item just before the finish line. "Whaaaaaat? You cheated!"
"No, I didn't! It's completely fair."
"Liar! I'll have to hit you before the finish line next time. Then you will understand my pain." She playfully punches him in the shoulder and the two laugh as you enter the room. Dusty is sitting in the corner on what looks like a dog bed. He wags his tail slightly when you enter and the two of them look behind at you.
"Oh, hey. I didn't hear you come in. Come grab a remote. I've still got one left for you. Laura and I were just playing a game while we were waiting for you. It seems like rehearsal went a bit late tonight."

That volcano incident got to me.
I went to save Karl while I was supposed to be covering your group Tom...
I was sure you died because of my decision...
I feel guilty.
I need a pause from the other world. Good old gaming will be great."

Tab responds to Raine. "Sounds romantic! It's a date. If you'd like, I'll pick you up tomorrow in the evening so we can head off. See you then!"
Tab texts Mattea. "Hey, Mattea. It's totally fine if you're busy, but I was wondering if you wanted to hang out. I'm not just talking about getting results from your research, but hanging out as friends, y'know?"

Tom seems to think shortly before responding. "Don't apologize for that. If you didn't help Karl's team, they probably would have died instead. Then you still would have felt guilty. Besides, we're all fine. And we're fine because of the choice you made." Tom then hands you the remote. "But that's enough of the heavy stuff. Let's just try and relax, right?"
"You've played before, right, Julia? Watch out for the Purple Shell. It's the WORST." Laura then glares at Tom before the two of them laugh a bit.

(Move to Mall thread)
Lyon
You go around the school and ask around about the red haired girl, giving an accurate description of her. After spending some time doing that, you learn that she's usually found at the mall either shopping or hanging out with her friends at the cafe. She's also friends with Avel and Lance. Someone also said that they saw here hanging out with someone named Buttons once. He's the leader of some sort of creepy cult at the school or something. Sounds kind of sketchy.
Tab
Raine responds. "Okay! See you! :)"
Mattea then responds. "Oh, you wanna hang out? Sure! It's a good thing you didn't want any new info. Because I don't have any yet. :P Still looking through dad's old files. Where should we go together? The usual or somewhere else?"

"Not really, I didn't really have any friends to play with in my childhood, so multiplayer games are not what I played.

Tom sits back a bit. "Hm...not much. Probably just spend time relaxing and enjoying the normal life for a bit. We haven't been able to do that really. Not since all this started."
Laura then answers after him. "I'm not really sure. I know we planned that Halloween party, so that should be fun. Maybe I'll spend some time carefully picking out an outfit. What do you think I should go as, Julia?"
Tab
"Cool! Meet you there, Tab!"
Tai
"No, she actually didn't. I found this out from another source. Regardless, I can tell there's something going on here. Don't leave any stone unturned."
Jimmy seems a little confused. "I didn't think this club would actually ever progress to anything like that..."
"Hey, we need to step up our game. Stop asking questions and start searching for information. We need to know all we can. Just imagine what would happen if a rift between the demon world and our world opened up! It's up to us to deal with this stuff, right?"
Jimmy then looks to you and whispers in your ear. "Hey, uh...is Buttons acting weird to you too?"

Tai picks out some books and quickly reads through them. Their information ranges from accurate to... gossip magazine levels of wrong...

Laura laughs a bit at your suggestion. "I'm not sure I could pull that off. I didn't know you liked movies so much, Julia."
Tom seems to find your thoughts on him wearing sunglasses kind of funny. "Well, I don't really like sunglasses specifically. It's just, you know." He takes them off and points to the scar you've seen before. "I'd rather people didn't just stare at this whenever I was talking to them. The sunglasses help hide it."
You notice Laura seems a little bit quieter once he mentions it. Hm...why though?

You spend the afternoon flipping through various books with the help of Jimmy. You feel like somehow you've learned things...
Your Knowledge has increased by 1!
Afterwards, you determine that most of this knowledge isn't particularly useful. It's either what you already know or stuff that's just...wrong. However, you did come across what seems like some sort of rumor about finding your true love in another world at midnight? It was kind of crazy, honestly. But it's the only thing that's close to what Buttons mentioned.

I just noticed how serious you looked without your sunglasses. I didn't even pay attention to the scar...
Do you want to stop wearing those sunglasses?
Maybe finding a lion costume and going as Scar could be a way to see how people act towards it..."

Laura seems to be trying her best not to pay too much attention to the conversation, avoiding the topic of Tom's scar.
Tom responds, however. "Yes, I guess I do look fairly serious. I might be laid back, but...there is a lot I think about. As nice as being able to relax without the sunglasses sounds, I don't really think I could. They've almost become a part of me in a weird way...kind of like this scar..."
There's definitely a story here and you're awkwardly being kept out of the loop.
