Looking for names that actually have to be relevant or just names that are names? Gaius comes to mind. You could also come up with something irrelevant like David or something. I need more details on the type of name you're looking for.

I'm looking for a relevant name. Gaius could probably work, although it makes me immediately think of the thief from Awakening. There's also the slight irony that the song I'm planning to use with him is the theme of an owl, although that's not a particularly big deal.

I believe Lief is a name. It might not be though. You could also call him Cedar which is a type of wood. There's Barry, which sounds like berry. Umm...need more ideas?

A bit later than planned, but here it is.
Name: Cedar
Appearance: A pale and skinny boy with long scraggly grey hair and matching eyes, somewhere between twelve and fourteen years old. Wears a ragged and torn pair of pants he found in the forest, but no shirt or shoes.
Song Holder: A set of handmade pan pipes.
Starting Song:
Backstory: Cedar has lived his entire life in a forest amongst the animals, particularly a Great Horned Owl named Nascha. After the two narrowly escaped when the color was drained from the forest they find themselves on a quest to restore the forest to how it once was, a journey that will take them through an unfamiliar world much bigger than they've ever dealt with.
Abilities: Cedar has a natural affinity with animals. In addition to his presence not scaring or angering them, he has a sort of understanding of them, from general emotions to any kind of message they may be trying to convey, and can also speak to them. In partcular, him and Nascha are able to carry on a conversation as well as any two humans.
Speaking of Nascha, she follows him around everywhere he goes, usually perched on his shoulder or arm, but when playing music she flies around him and even joins in on some songs such as the second half of his starting song. She's generally the voice of reason keeping his reckless and curious personality in check. Having the same protection as tuners would be preferable (if she needs to be a tuner for it, she acts as her own song holder and hoots in tune with the music to "sing") as she's essentially the second half of Cedar's character.
