It looks like there's a ton of people here. You don't really know any of them. A green boo, a famous scientist, an explorer, a mailman, some obnoxious purple guy, a red Wiggler, a purple Cheep Cheep, a little sparky thing, a famous actress, some kind of pirate, and many other people. In fact, someone walks in the door while you stand there.

The doors open up in Peach's castle as someone everyone recognizes walks in. The mustache man in red, Mario himself! Oh, and some random green stache guy. Who knows who he is? Lots of people crowd around him to start talking, but nobody really talks to green stache.
