Jink suddenly appears in a large room with brown sludge covering the ground and thorned vines on the walls. A giant piranha plant drops down from above, shaking the entire area violently before Petey Piranha lets out an angry roar at Jink.
FIGHT!
Petey Piranha begins taking in a deep breath as little blob-like creatures rise up out of the sludge all over the floor.

Time to actually get on with this one.
Jink was excited to actually get to engage in real combat. It felt like so long ago that she'd been wed to her beloved Lord Tyrion, and even longer since she'd first dedicated herself to his cause in the first place. Sure, this wasn't exactly the Ice Palace, or a dramatic Away Team adventure, but after spending so much time fighting mostly humans it would do her just fine. Surveying the area, it occurred to her that if there weren't thorns on the vines she would probably be able to try some climbing or Longshot nastiness. The thought of rocketing into those was enough to make her wince, and instead she realized that she wasn't alone. Obviously, the blobs were going to be a problem, but her keen adventurer's instinct and experience against boss monsters told her she needed to keep an eye on Petey himself.
Finally deciding on action, Jink drew a mighty blade: the White Sword! Also known as the Noble Sword, she hoped it would be plenty to suffice. She would make her best attempt to lure the little creatures into surrounding her, and then slicing her weapon around in a deadly Spin Attack! Yeah, that's the Jink way to kill adds!

Reaching for her blade, Jink awaits the perfect time to strike. The blob creatures advance around her and have her surrounded! Just as planned! As they all leap at her to attack, Jink unleashes a deadly spin attack, slashing apart all the blobs at once as the sludge within them splatters around in the room. However, while Jink was busy with the enemy blobs, Petey Piranha seems to have been charging an attack! He vomits forth a stream of sludge over Jink, showering her in it and moving her backward. At first the attack doesn't seem to be too bad. No real damage was taken. She's simply covered in slippery, slimey sludge. But it's only then that she realizes the true danger to this attack! The force of the sludge blast has her slipping across the floor, directly towards the spiked vines on the walls! She has to act fast to avoid getting skewered.

Not even close to pleased with the fact that she's covered in gross schmutz, Jink tried to use her precious moments mid-slide to cycle through possible solutions in her brain. Wind Waker? No, too slow acting to be effective when she's already on her way. Ember Seeds with her Seed Launcher? "Strong maybe..." she thought silently, finally instinctively reaching to the shield on her back. Burning dangerous plants had worked in other situations, but for all she knew these thorns were made of sterner stuff than she was used to. Slick with crud as it was, she hoped that she could successfully grasp for the screaming-faced Mirror Shield. It had once been enough to cover up the majority of her body defensively, but just as she was no longer a small child, the shield no longer covered her entire body. The lithe blonde had some very light chainmail on, and even though she knew that if she fumbled the shield or was unable to get it in front of her in time, it could mean extreme pain. The cheap stuff she was wearing to show solidarity with common troops wasn't going to do much at all against thorns like that, and the custom made armor Lord Tyrion gave her lay wasted back in her home in Hyruje.
The sword-and-gear girl didn't like to test her heart containers so early into a fight, and would just try to keep as much of her body covered as possible. Beyond that, tank a little and hope for the best. Hope the shield is enough to at least prevent some thorns from stabbing into her. It ain't gonna work like it would on Young Jink, that's for sure.
If I just end up trying to figure out reaction solutions, though, Petey will soon kill Jink. If the thorns don't kill her or leave her immobilized, she'd surely try to see if she could get any kind of a grip on her Seed Launcher. It might be helpful to see how Petey and the slick, sickly, ugly gross and polluted sludge react to Ember Seeds, if at all. If not, she may be screwed.
Ugh, I may be way off with my strategy. Still, this is what I'm going with. BTW, if I never mentioned, I'm assuming her basic Gates of Bowser's Castle gear and none of the Cemetary Gates upgrades.

Deciding to cut her losses and go with a purely defensive brace on this one, Jink takes out the Mirror Shield and holds it in the direction of the thorns. Making sure to cover as much as her body as possible with it, she braces for impact and feels herself thud against the wall. The sound of thorns cracking and breaking on the shield emanates through the room as Jink knocks back onto the ground. The wind is momentarily knocked out of her and she's got a few scrapes here and there, but it seems like she managed to minimize the damage effectively.
Getting back to her feet carefully, Jink discovers that the muck on the floor is actually quite slippery. Still, being used to walking on surfaces such as ice without too much difficulty, she keeps her balance. She'll simply need to be mindful of slipping when running and stopping. Almost instinctively, Jink reaches for her Seed Launcher. Petey Piranha, in the middle of another deep gasp of air is caught with his mouth wide open. Jink lets loose a blast of ember seeds, hitting Petey in the mouth. He doesn't seem to take the attack well, letting out an angered shout before flapping his arm-like leaves and floating up in the air. It looks like he's going to try a new approach.
