Ordinary Human: Certain heroes don't have any powers whatsoever. Most of them use some kind of technology to survive against villains.
Powerlings: Powerlings are entities possessing "power genes". They have all sort of powers ranging from anything.
Artifact Holder: Artifact Holders were lucky enough to find a legendary object which gives them powers.
American Apex: American Apex are very close to nature. They found a sacred ground where they linked themselves with the spirit of an animal. The spirit they are linked with give them surnatural powers related to the animal they are linked with.
Mayan Apex: Mayan Apex probably inadvertently fell into an ancient temple and got stuck fighting a legendary creature... Upon defeating of befriending that creature, they got all of it's powers.
Aztec Apex: Aztec Apex found a temple on top of Mount Everest. They got linked with an animal and can transform into that animal.
African Apex: African Apex are shamans. They are very close to the spiritual world, to the point where the spirit of an extinct creature found them and came back to life to be their familiar.
Demon familiars: Demons actually exist... Certain people manage to get a contract with a demon familiar, getting weaker version of the demon's powers. These person can summon their familiars though, in which case the demon will fight with all of his power, preventing the summoner from using the powers as long as the demon is not unsummoned.
Alien Powerlings: Some powerlings come from other planets. Aliens are usually more powerful than humans, often having some kind of cosmic powers.
