Well this topic is now open and this will be ran here and over at the Verse.
So basic premise Zelda and Link are dead. Like dead dead. During a time of peace under Zelda and Links guidance Hyrule grew and prosper. Yet Ganon was secretly gathering his strength with the help of someone who claims to be close to the royal family. Link and Zelda have twins a boy and girl. One day when they are both 10 Ganon launches his assult. They try to fight back but Ganon is proving too much so they decide on one final action. They have Impa run away with the kids and prepare there secret weapon. An ultimate seal but is very draining on both of there bodies. They lure Ganon to the sealing chambers and the seal looks like it's working but before the process is complete they are stabbed in the back by the traitor and before the person is identified huge explosion light skews your view and end scene.
Now 8 years later the twins are 18 and basically you decided there weapon proficiency, where you start off different areas have different effects. Oh and name. The big thing is during the game you control two characters and both of them are eaqully competent in one way or another.
Now a question because as we know stats aren't a big thing in Zelda only stats will be health, number of ammo (bows, etc.), attack stats, defense stats and any special ability. Now here are some questions for you guys
Twins only playable NPCs or would you guys like the ability to recruit NPCs throughout the journey? Weapon Durability? Only on common things but unlimited use age on special weapons equipment? None at all? Suggestions? How should deaths be handled? Support systems? Alchemy, Weapon creation, Cooking systems? Do you have any additional ideas, suggestions, comments? I might have come up with the concept but this is a collaborative project between us all so anything you would like to see implemented or anything you wanna help out with just asked. As far as actually starting the real cyoa when everything basocially set and when we can get a working system.
So yeah anything you guys wanna say let me know.

One thing I would like to see is a huge focus on storytelling and characters. It's all good if there are interesting systems at play for the gameplay, but most important is making sure the adventure, atmosphere and experience are all super good.
I think the important thing is to focus on developing the twins. I don't mind if they make allies around the land, but I think they should be the only playable characters. Maybe sometimes they could have a guest or two depending on the mission, but I think the hugest mistake I made with Gates was having too many characters. It made it too difficult to highlight and focus on everyone, and as a result I could never flesh everyone out quite like I would have preferred. If you focus on the twins, they can be really awesome and distinctive, and their adventures will be all the more meaningful. But definitely plenty of NPC allies, those are fun.

Thoughts: As I talked about when we were talking via PM I'm still holding onto the hope of it becoming a hybrid CYOA/RP like the Dating Sim if later on you feel more comfortable and decide you like the idea, so to that end it might be good to keep the number of characters that everyone mutually controls fairly low so as not to run the risk of bloating the cast. If we're deciding specific weapon types for the characters than it might be nice to leave durability out, the reason it works in BotW is that it encourages the player to use a variety of weapon types and even then (and this is just my opinion) is something that's more tolerated than enjoyed. Perhaps have fairies be more plentiful than usual (and like in BotW not need a bottle for them) and if a character is defeated without any fairies then they're dead weight that can't be revived until a Fairy Fountain is reached. If everyone is KOed then it's game over and we have to restart from the last Fairy Fountain. If you're referring to Supports as in the Fire Emblem mechanic then that isn't really something that I feel is necessary in a Zelda game, but that's ultimately your call. I've got no strong opinions either way on things like alchemy or crafting.

Okay a few things as far as cooking or crafting I might do that or I may just leave it for convince. If someone wants to pitch in or help or I can always just copy and paste the loot list from BotW and Hyjule Warriors.
So the traitor the person who leads to the downfall of Zelda and Link who are they. Should they by an Original completely new character or an OC character from the series or do you guys want to make a custom character that you guys come up with?
Also crossovers how much do you want it?
None at all? Other Zelda characters and location? Other Nintendo characters? How about villains not named Ganon appearing? Do you want Zant, Yuga, Girhiam, the Wind Demon Boss from the 4 swords, Majoras Mask to have any role in it?
Also there will be a third character that will join the twins. Don't worry this NPC is more or less your guide. Best part you get to choose who Fairy, Bokogoblin, Wolf, Keese, Lizard enemy, I will leave the choice to you guys.
Finally Master Sword and Light Bow what do you wanna do with them?
Do you want them in the beginning but a majority of there power is sealed in the beginning or do you want them to have to be acquired during the cyoa.

Probably better to keep crossover elements to a relative minimum, while bringing back areas but drastically changed like most Zelda games do. Let's go with a Fairy, it's a role they've been shown to fill well and this way it won't feel like they should be fighting alongside us.

A Fairy would be very nice to have, but I ask that we consider the option of a talking Keese. Maybe it could be a special color or something, it would just be kind of cute IMO. I'm down for whatever gets picked, but I think we should stick to one of these since they're small and can fly out of the way when needed so they aren't a liability. A single Keese wouldn't be much of a threat, so it wouldn't be weird for them not to fight.
However, fairies are also cute and I love them. I just think an inversion of the 'flying little thing' part of Zelda would add a unique flavor.
I think we should stay away from crossover elements, except for established stuff like Goombas from Link's Awakening.
As for the Master Sword, tough to say. I think it would be cool if the twins got their own brand new legendary equipment.

Well i was thinking of having a Zora princess with an ability that makes her feared throughout the domain. She has the ability to control and create ice but the other Zora's fear her bexuase of it. Her name defiently not Elsa it would be Elisa. Just a nice call back to Gates and it would be an in depth quest to either hemp her control her powers and win the heart of the other Zora's or crush them and take over the region.
Also big bad I was thinking of either Ganon, the traitor, or someone else completely? Again you guys can suggest or come up with an idea on who it will be? I am actually very interested in what you guys suggest.
I know I asked but so do you guys want two versions of Hyrule (a la Twilight realm, Lyrule (LBW), Dark Realm, Future) or just one single version of hyrule?
Again don't be shy about holding back any input I 100% welcome it and feel free to add your own little twists or locations they for sure will be implemented.
This Cyoa/RP is something made for you guys its as much as it for me.

Guys guys I have an idea for the traitor/big bad for the cyoa......
So I was thinking what if while in his Ganondorf form he had a daughter with the Geroude leader. It was a love of first sight for her but he just saw her as a tool towards his goals. He did develope some feelings for her but nothing you would describe as love more like an ends to a means. Time goes on he tolerates being around her but once he finds her no longer useful for whatever reason he just ups and leave no word no nothing.
She is devastated because she was truly in love with him. Yet she would eventually Lear who he was or she knew who he was and didn't care. She then discovers that she's pregnant one day. She is carrying Ganondorfs daughter but is either unable to tell Ganondorf or unwilling to to tell her daughter about who he is.
Basically the traitor will be Ganondorfs daughter who is basically a sister to the twins. All three are the same age 16 at the time Ganon strikes the castle by now she learned a out her dad and who he is and everything. Everyone keeps it a secret from her until an incident happened when she was 16 she unknowingly taps into Ganon's power in a fit of anger. (Basically creates a shadowy claw when she is being surrounded and beat up by a gang of bullies). Even before hand she can create shadowy flames and wild monsters seem to bow down to her almost like they will obey her. There is a secret village of monsters who broke free of Ganon and they just want to live a peaceful life. They do interact with the other villages but its more so for trade. They don't like outsiders but aren't hostile towards travelers or outsiders more like there guard is up and just have the most minimal of interactions.
She kills Zelda and Link during the sealing process because they are about to seal her dad away. The process is mostly complete so about 99% of his powers are drained/sealed.
The twins are caught off guard and are devastated but before they can do anyone Impa and the rest of the Shekiah tribe take them into hiding. The last thing they see is someone who has been a sister to them standing over there parents body almost smiling, and the castle in flames.
So what so you think about Ganondorfs daughter being the traitor??

I agree with having a Keese being the little guide character.

So I might get this up and running tommrow.
So from what I gathered.
Keep the party limited to the Twins and there helpful guide character Kathrine the Keese. Guest character once in a while.
Original sacred weapons for the twins depending on there weapon profencies.
Keeping one current version of Hyrule for now.
So how do you guys feel about having the big bad, traitor being Ganondorfs daughter and she was very close to the twins growing up. Like a sister.
Other then that any last minute comments, ideas, suggestions?
