Fuzz
You land in the village of cozy looking log cabins and notice that a large majority of the population here are...penguins. You do notice a few people that are not penguins, however. There's a girl that's cleaning off a rapier that she holds in her hand and what looks like a high schooler wearing a black trench coat and carrying a large club of ice. Aside from them, there's one penguin wearing a detective's hat that stands out to you. Among the various houses, you see what looks to be a bakery and an inn, but not much else of interest to you.

This is that one part from TTYD, isn't it? Go say hi to the detective.

You walk up to the detective and greet him. He stares at you with a magnifying glass and invades your personal space. "Hmm? HMM?" This is a very strange penguin.

"Is something the matter?"

"You look different from the other people we get here. Something's not the same about you. But what is it, I wonder. Hmmm...?" He inspects your face some more with his magnifying glass. "Are you perhaps related to that dragon? HMMMMM?"

"You mean that dragon?" Point to Kain, with Lupis standing next to him. "Yeah, the guy riding him is a friend of mine. Why do you ask?"

"I am a genius! My detective skills are amazing!" He seems happy with your answer and doesn't explain anything.

"Alright then, if you're such a genius then I'll bet you know a way to get to that city with the castle before this snowstorm sets in. We're travelers and we're interested in seeing what there is to do over there, but seeing how our primary means of transportation is a reptile then getting caught out in a blizzard would be a bit of a problem."

"...Ah, yes, of course! I could tell you the answer, but why do that when you can experience the joy of solving the puzzle yourself?" You can tell he probably has no idea how to help you.

You know what, let's just walk around town. Register its co-ordinates to my sphere while I'm at it.

You register the town's coordinates into your sphere for later use before looking around a bit. Not much is all that different from when you first showed up. You do notice, however, when inspecting a bit closer that what looks like a gray mannequin is standing behind the inn quietly. His face and body are nearly featureless aside from the fact that they're humanoid. He also wears gray clothes and you notice a harp attached to his back. Perhaps a traveling performer?
Searching the town further, you accidentally trip over something that seems solid and metallic under the snow. Not far behind one of the houses, there seems to be an entrance to some underground location. A trapdoor leading underground.

Go back to the penguin. "Hey, I think I've found something strange. Seeing how you're a detective, could you help me investigate it?"

"Hmm?" The penguin walks over to the location you show him and opens up the trap door underground. "It appears that I have done it again! Another clue to a great mystery! Good work, assistant! Let's head on in! TALLYHO!" The weird penguin jumps down into the trap door without warning. Looking down into the underground room, it looks to be made mostly of metal. Perhaps some sort of safe or vault to hide something away?

Shrug, then hop down there with him.

You shrug and jump down into the mysterious trapdoor. Down there, you notice the room is made entirely of solid metal. In fact, this kind of metal seems unearthly in power. What the heck is this thing doing here? There's only one door in this place moving forward, but it looks like the only way to open it is with a four digit code. The penguin inspects it closely. "Hmm. Yes, very interesting. I believe the code to this door is 4739. Go ahead and try typing it in. I can't stand the suspense! The way forward is just a few number clicks away!"
