I'm really mad right now because I just wrote huge paragraphs for all of you, so now I'm just gonna skip right to what happened.
Malik's group entered the ruins and it's unnaturally dark and they can't light it up with fire magic.
Lupis group heads into the desert and feels the heat beating down on them as two Fire Salamanders come out of the ground and spray Lupis with fire.
Kick's group heads out to River crossing to fight the Green Ninja
Keth and Ashley are waiting for Azure to talk to Sci since he won't listen to them.

(Fun fact: In the Live-Action Roleplaying game I took Malik from, he has a spell which can repel dark energy xd)
Does the Healing Spells generate any kind of light?

Shattering Ice and Multi Attack. If they survive, Kain will kick sand in their eyes to try to lower their accuracy.

Malik takes the Muddy Pelt over to Garren to figure out what it can be used for. "Hmm...let's see...with this I can make you a Fur Robe. Did you want me to do that?" Malik also sees Cheri with HIS berries. "Oh, these berries can make a...uh...Hi Potion! Yeah! Did you want one?"

Maybe fusing heal into my weapon to give it the glow again might help? Dunno

Aven tries fusing heal in his weapon to light the way, but it doesn't seem like any of you have the right spell to dispel the darkness right now. The option seems to be continue in the dark or return home in search of a way to see.
The salamanders continue to breathe fire everywhere as Lupis quickly throws jabs at both of them. Sylvia starts to cast her spell as Joey spits on one of the salamander, making it look at him, ready to attack. Kain kicks sand into both of their eyes, blinding them, so they can't see and are unable to hit Joey. Sylvia then creates a pillar of ice that shatters apart, sending shards into both salamanders and defeating them. The group is satisfied with their victory and continues on into the desert, feeling more exhausted with each step. The heat is really starting to get to them...it may be best to leave now instead of risking becoming delirious from the sun.

Malik attempts to create a torch, burning his old equipment and ends up with burned equipment. It didn't seem to help either. It's like something isn't blocking out light, but MAKING darkness.
