Terra appears on the other side of the portal on a snow covered mountain. Waite stands there, waiting around for her. "Alright, are you ready? I'm going to teach you how to work with ice. It should be easier in a cold climate like this. Freezing takes less work if the waters already at a cold temperature."

"Alright, let's start with some basic stuff." Waite creates a bowl of ice in her hand and fills it with water, placing it on the ground. "Try freezing the water. It shouldn't be too hard. Just focus on it and visualize the water molecules slowing down."

"Oh, I can do that!" Terra promises. She dips her fingers into the water, draws it up to her wrists, and holds it in place. "...Now what?"

"Hmm...that's not really what I meant. You see how the water is still uh...flowy? Like it's full of energy? You need to focus on the water and try to calm it down. Dispel that energy that's in it."

"Oh... Um... OK..." Terra concentrates on the water. She takes the water off one hand and focuses on a smaller amount. She tries waving her other hand at the water. She tries making funny faces. She tries accidentally tearing chunks of water off while trying to pull the water's energy out. She tries getting angry. Angrier than usual, anyway.
Finally, she tries calming down, breathing, and concentrating on slowing the water in smaller sections at a time, rather than trying to drain the entire thing's energy at once.

Terra manages to freeze the small amount of water she is holding into a solid block of ice. Waite smiles and seems satisfied. "Not bad."

"But this small amount's not going to be helpful in combat, especially if it takes this long to make..." Terra turns back to the water in the bowl, refills it, then shapes it into a small blade and begins trying to freeze it that way, making an effort to work on slightly larger sections at a time.

Terra works on the water, trying to make it into a blade with slightly larger sections at a time. She makes it, but it seems rather weak. Like it might melt away at any minute. Waite shakes her head. "You're a bit too impatient. Try smaller things first. Here, make an ice dagger or something first." She refills the ice bowl.

Terra manages to successfully craft the small blade with some time put into it. "Well done. Are you ready to practice something that can help you with your punching and stuff?"
