Kayla
Tana frowns a bit, but remains professional. "'Kayla Lyptus,' hm? Alright. Let me see..." She turns to a computer at her side, clicks a few times, and a printer whirs to life. She hands you a form. "Just fill this out and we'll have the records to you later this week. Assuming you know the serial number. Ah, you did recover the weapon, correct?"

Kayla
Tana's eyes narrow and she rises out of her seat. Her persona shifts rapidly from friendly greeter to hardened homicide detective. "Confidential? You think whether or not you're in possession of a firearm is confidential. Either you didn't recover it, in which case you left a lethal weapon where, for all I know, children could find it. And we'll need to send a unit to recover it. Or you did, in which case you possibly contaminated a crime scene; it could be important evidence, and you'll need to surrender it." Tana slams another form down on the desk. "I don't know what's with your attitude, Miss Private Investigator, but I suggest you correct it. I don't care what case you're trying to keep secret, but we need to conduct a concurrent investigation about this. Now, tell me when, where, and how you found this firearm."

Kayla is about to speak, but immediately stops. She scratches her head and suddenly feels embarassed.
"Hum... My Koala woke me up. He had it in his mouth. I have no idea how he found it.
I'm quite embarassed about this hence why I pulled out the confidentiality card.
I'm exactly here to know where that weapon comes from."

"Theyre just works of fiction, right? What exactly is so bad about them?" If you've got any Charm skills or Library Use, now might be a good time up toll them.

Iggy
The librarian explains that it may be fiction, but it's still really violent. And she'd get in trouble if you had nightmares. Or worse, if you tried to imitate any of the rituals in the books or something.
Iggy's Fast Talk roll: 35/55 - Success
You promise you won't. Cross your heart.
"Well... Alright, I guess," she says. She explains how to find the books about the occult. "But you won't be able to look at any of the... primary sources. Handling those books requires special training and close observation. We have a special room for it down in the basement - someone your age just isn't allowed."
You could still learn a few things from the reference section up on the third floor. But what exactly are you looking for?
Kayla Lyptus
Tana looks you dead in the eye.
Kayla's Fast Talk roll: 81/75 - Failure
"Bullshit."

Kayla looks her right in the eyes, dead serious.
"Yes it is bullshit. All of this is bullshit.
I found it in a goddamn dream, used it against a snake monster and woke up with it.
I want to know where the fuck this gun came from.
Because that's obviously bullshit.
There's no such thing as bringing something back from a dream.
The reason I'm here is exactly to know where that gun came from."

Kayla
Tana's silent for a moment. She leans in, rests her arms on the table, and speaks quietly. "Is that the truth?"
Kayla's Psychology roll: 3/50 - Strong Success
She seems... sincere. Like she actually kind of believes you.

Kayla
Tana frowns and stands back up. She types away at the computer and prints out several forms. "Well, you'll need to drop the gun off to evidence and fill out this incident report. If you want to stick with the dream story, we can chalk it up as 'stress-induced hallucination...' Or you could give me a more reasonable lie, like it got dropped off at your office anonymously." Tana shuffles through the fresh-printed papers as she continues. "Or you could simply remain anonymous yourself, though you'll forfeit any hopes of getting a forensics report. If you want, we could also give you a blood test to check if you were, say, drugged...?" She looks at you questioningly, waiting to decide which forms to hand you.
Ignatius
Iggy's luck check - hidden
You browse through the shelves. There's really not much of a selection. And even with what few books there are, almost all of them seem to be checked out. You walk over to one of the computer terminals and fiddle with it a few minutes, finally figuring out how to get a list of the supernatural non-fiction books they have and confirm that the vast majority are indeed checked out. What's worse is that most of them seem to be past due. Ugh.
You'll only be able to check out one book at a time. Without too much difficulty, you narrow it down three books that look like they may be worth your time: "Fantastic Mi-go and Where to Find Them" "Azathoth and Friends" "Florville: Local Myths and Legends"
There's three copies of the last one available, actually.
