"I'll come up with something...
I'll also take the drug test."
Kayla fills the first paper uncomfortably. She writes down that her client left the gun at her door and ran away. The client didn't respond to any attempt of contact, so Kayla brought the gun to the police station to have it analyzed.
"That will have to do..."

"Local myths and legends? Worth a shot, I guess." Open the book up to the table of contents. It's doubtful that Ignatius Has a library card given the lack of any parents to get one for him, so he'll have to read it here.

Kayla
Tana helps you fill out the forms, then grabs some passing rookie cop and makes him take over desk duty while she escorts you to drop the gun at evidence. While you're there, she has one of the forensic techs draw a vial of blood. "If analysis shows you actually were drugged, we'll give you a call. As for the gun, we'll get on it ASAP. I'll personally make sure you stay up to date. Um... Oh." She pulls out a notepad and pen, scribbles something on it, and hands it to you. "There's my number. If you don't want to wait for snail mail, you can give me a call tomorrow evening and I'll tell you what we managed to turn up."
Kayla's Fate with Tana Washington has reached Stage 1. Their stories are beginning to intertwine...
Iggy
The Hound of the Hills... The first page is an absolutely eerie drawing of some eyes in a bush. Something about them is completely sinister. If you ever ran into that, you're... not sure what you'd do.
The legend is... surprisingly simple. There's some unknown animal thought to lurk in the woods near the outskirts of town. Most people describe it as dog-like, but descriptions vary pretty wildly. There was a string of children who went missing back in the 1960's - and people thought this Unknown Mysterious Animal might be to blame. A wild hunt was carried out, and finally a mutant, deformed coyote was found and killed. Based on witness testimony, it was believed this creature was the hound. And the fact no more children went missing afterward implies they may have been right. But none of the children that had been taken were ever heard from again.
People have been claiming to have sighted this thing again every so often ever since. The sightings are usually debunked as a drunken stupor or other hallucination, but reports of sightings have been on the rise in recent years. There was an especially high number of claims... 3 years ago. Huh, this book's newer than you thought.
You should have time for one more story this afternoon.

Iggy
The forest fairies are one of the few innocuous local legends. Supposedly, there's a colony of them living in the local forest - the same forest as that beast. They're lead by a beautiful faerie queen - or so the sayings go.
If you're ever lost at night, they'll help you find your way - if you're polite. If you're mean or you stumble into their domain during the day, they might play pranks on you instead. It's wise to bring them offerings of cheese, nuts, and small, shiny trinkets. If you can gain their friendship, rumors say they'll do small favors for you.
There's a rough sketch pointing to where their kingdom supposedly lies, according to a handful of eyewitness reports throughout the ages. There's been relatively few reports in the last few years.
It's early evening. The library will still be open until dark, so you could keep reading if there's nothing else you want to do.

Look around to see if the librarian is watching. If not, grab a pencil and paper and make a quick sketch of the map before putting it in my pocket. If she is, just try to memorize it.

Kayla looks at her phone, then back at Tana, takes the note and register her number in it.
"Yeah... I'll call you tomorrow.
Sorry for all of this...
I think this is all silly myself."
Kayla mumbles "Fighting monsters in dreams" to herself while shaking her head. She slowly makes her way back outside.

You scavenge a pencil and paper and copy the map.
Iggy's Survival check: 42/30 - Good Enough
Well, it's good enough. You can decide if you want to read into the evening or head somewhere else.
Kayla
Tana escorts you outside and sees you off. By the time you're getting done, the sun is setting. So where to for this evening?

Iggy
Florville takes its name from, of course, the plentiful flowers found all throughout the city and the surrounding fields. While these are a beloved local treasure and a source of tourist revenue, they hold a dark secret.
Approximately every 60 years, there's a particularly bountiful spring. All through that year, bad fortune haunts the town. During the last burst, the hound appeared. The previous incident brought a massive fire that badly damaged the town. The next predicted flower burst could come as early as... this year?
That's probably enough reading for today. The library's closing.
