Picking a quest: You pick a quest during Adventurers Meetings. Once that's done, your caravan will leave on a quest.
Travelling: Your caravan obviously has to travel to the quest's location. Anything can happen on the road. The farther you are from your destination, the more time it will take to reach your destination. You will need to survive and camp until you reach your goal. You can turn back before reaching the quest area if you need to.
Quest: Once you reach the Quest Area, you can start working to complete it. Wether it's hunting monsters, rescuing someone, getting an item or even evacuate a town, a party of 4 will have to use their wits to survive and complete their objective.
Checkpoints: If there is enough adventurers in the caravan, checkpoints will happen. This is events where you can change the party for the next task at hand. Checkpoints will happen a lot during travelling, especially when the caravan camps, but can still happen during the quest itself.
Reward: Every single quest will end with the adventurers receiving a reward. It can be gold, a weapon, a spell, a skill, a new contact, a new trader, finding a new town, items, etc. The reward is received if the objective is completed. If fighting is not required, you don't need to kill a single enemy to get the reward. Just work for your objective.
