Objective: Get a chest buried by the bandits. Target: Damian Environment: Plains Difficulty: Easy Travelling lenght: 1 day Reward: Gold
Melinda: "Some guy saw bandits bury a treasure under a lone tree in the plains. It's not far from Benny's town, so travelling should be quick. That's pretty much it for this one. We get the chest, we go back home. Shouldn't be too hard."
---Day 1: Afternoon, Plains---
As the first meeting was longer than it usually will be, the caravan has started moving in the afternoon. The sun is high in the sky and the plains are quite easy to travel. There's not much to see except grass extending all the way into the horizon. The road is a bit rough at first, but once Arma makes it onto the path, it is highly more comfortable. After one or two hours, time is hard to calculate inside this caravan, Arma suddenly stops.
Arma: "Alright guys, this will be your first task. There's a really big log in the path. Probably placed here by bandits. If I try to avoid it, I have to take a detour and that's probably when and where we'll be attacked by them. I need you to deploy a party of 4 liberate the path so we can avoid jumping into an ambush."
---Task: Clear a path for the Caravan---
When you receive a Task, the rotation mechanic activates. You have to send a party of 4 adventurers to complete it. You can also add two support characters to your party. Note that you don't have too. Support NPCs cannot fight. Bringing them has advantages, but it puts them at risk. They can not fight, but they can help with other basic actions though. Arma will always stay at a safe distance from wherever the task is happening, therefore you cannot bring him into the party.
Consult the Caravan Status to find out what Support NPCs bring to the table.
It's now time to decide who's better for the job!

Why don't we just take everyone and have them all push together? Crystalis doesn't need hands to push a log, he can simply use his side.

Arma: "It is better to not send everyone all at once. If something goes south and the party out of the caravan falls, I need some people to bring back to safety. If all of the adventurers of the caravan falls, there is no more resistance.
I'd rather you leave in parties of 4."
Melinda: "I can come to help move the logs."
Felicia: "The dog seems to want to join in, I'll sit this one out. Not much I can do with a gun. It's not gonna cut wood."
Terrace Iri Saden Crystalis Melinda Support NPC 2, available

Terrace, Iri, Saden and Crystalis walks to the logs blocking the path, while the Caravan stays at a safe distance.
The logs are pretty big.
Melinda: "They must have been cut, then cast a growth spell on afterwards."
Melinda runs off to scout the surroundings, leaving you to decide how you're gonna deal with the logs.

Rapiers are for thrusting, not so much hacking... And Saden also has a gun.
Try to break off any branches and whatnot that'll come off easy enough, maybe see if we can make it roll-able. At least reduce the weight before casting Log Push.

Terrace starts breaking out branches to make the logs less cumbersome while the others start pushing and rolling them out of the way. They get a third of the logs out of the way before Melinda comes back.
Melinda: "Okay... There's a pack of wolves coming this way. With your current pace, we'll not be finished until they show up. I did also spot a bandit ambush...
If we make enough noises, they should come out of hiding and they should intercept the wolves, giving us enough time to finish and go away."

Terrace continues to chop and roll logs.

Saden and Iri continue the way they've been going at it.
"Ugh... I knew I'd have to do some field work, but this is just manual labor..." Saden complains.
Iri grunts. "Yeah, well... you're just gonna have to deal with it, princess."

Melinda joins the group effort, while Crystalis steps out of the way and starts barking and howling.
With one third of the logs left to remove, the party can hear howling and shouting in the distance.
Three bandits can be seen running this way. You outnumber them, but the seem pretty well equipped. Daggers in hand, crossbow on their back, what looks like scrolls attached to their belts.
Melinda: "If two person help me, we can finish this and run back to the caravan. We need two persons to distract those bandits though. No need to fully engage them. Just buy us time to finish."

Crystalis plays fetch with one of the bandits, throwing a stick at them.
Terrace helps with the last of the logs.

Iri and Saden exchange a look. "I suppose this one is mine," Iri says.
"No, no. Escape is the priority, it won't do to get engaged with them. This is my specialty," Saden insists. She pulls out her pistol and starts moving to flank the enemies.

Crystalis runs towards the bandits, with a stick in his mouth. The bandits prepare themselves for an attack, as the wolf drop the stick in front of them. The bandits look at each other in confusion.
"It's just a friendly dog... Let's bring him home and attack the travelers."
"I'm sure Damian will be happy with this dog."
One of the bandits grab the stick to throw it away, but Saden moved in position right in their blind spot, shooting the stick right off the bandit's hand.
"Stop being distracted! They're attacking us!"
Terrace, Iri and Melinda finish removing the logs.
Melinda: "We just need to run back to thr Caravan now!"
Two of the bandits start running in an angle to intercept Terrace, Iri and Melinda. The third one unsheates his crossbow and aims at Saden. Crystalis seems to be completely ignored by the bandits.

Crystalis will jump on the two bandits trying to block the party to knock them over and then run away with everyone.
