Long ago, the world was falling to a great and deadly power. Those that faced it could only tremble in fear as they prayed for the end to be quick. Only thirteen could stand to face it and battle it. Thirteen heroes with legendary weapons in hand. Together, they sealed away this force of evil, but it was said that one day it would break free again to terrorize the world. Only then could the descendants of the heroes reassemble to defeat it. But that story is an old one from a very long time ago. It is forgotten by most. The only things that remain as reminders are thirteen old weapons. Passed down from one generation to the next. The nations of Legerran no longer remember the danger that pulled them together and the lines between the nations became solidly drawn. As each nation made itself further independant, they began to feel less connected to the others. Eventually, this would lead to misunderstandings, hate, and even war. Once again, the world would fall into a state of chaos and the Legend of Heroes would once again be revived.
Legerran is home to many different nations. The largest and most prominent being Opulentus. Opulentus is the wealthiest of all the nations on Legerran. Ruled by an aristocracy, it only looks to further increase its wealth gain. It is truly the most greedy of the nations. Despite its focus on money, the people of Opulentus have a constant fear of other nations trying to steal its wealth. Because of this, they work to train strong knights day and night and have gathered together a well crafted army. The people in Opulentus have come to see the Laguz as rather distasteful. Considering them lesser people because they appear to be beasts, Opulentus and the Laguz tribes do not get along well. They are also wary of Daravia, knowing of their thief and bandit problems. Though they will not attack unprovoked, they are not on very friendly terms with Daravia.
Next is the holy land of Lux. The land said to be blessed by the gods. Lux is the religion capital of Legerran. It is very popularly known for its connection to the gods and the church. People from all over are welcomed here to come worship the gods and to learn more about them. Truly a warm and welcoming place. It is allied with Legerran, a main source of its income in exchange for lending some of its powerful healers to it. Although it allies with other nations, Lux has a strict rule against war. It will simply not participate in wars. It is against the people’s culture. Self defense is one thing, but it will not provoke anyone or start any fights. Even though it has this rule, it is of general consensus among the people that Umbra is an unholy place. It is not fully stated, but the shady doings of the dark mages cannot possibly be looked upon proudly by the gods.
Speaking of which, the isle of Umbra is well known as a land of carefree lifestyle. Without the limitations and restrictions on magic placed in other nations, Umbra is a popular magic destination. The people in Umbra attempt to keep an open mind to all ways of thought. Although it was founded on a seemingly innocent idea, it has become rather disliked and looked down upon by other nations. Since it is flocked by dark mages, dabbling in the forbidden arts, it is considered an unholy land and some areas are flat out dangerous. This has put it on bad terms with both Opulentus and Lux. Despite being considered shady, it is good allies with the Laguz land of Sidhe. Its open mindset considers Laguz equal to everyone else and accepts them with open arms.
Having faced oppression and injustice from the people of Opulentus, the Laguz tribes have finally formed together to create the recent nation of Sidhe. Together they stand for their rights as Laguz. They have naturally made enemies with Opulentus, viewing them as the real enemy and threat. Naturally, Sidhe and Umbra have come together in an alliance to stand against Opulentus, seeing as how it wrongly despises both of their people.
To the south of the major nations is Daravia. Although this used to also be a powerful and large nation, Daravia had spread itself too thinly across the desert and fell apart, becoming victim to bandits and thieves. Now the nation itself is run by thieves. Seeing themselves as the poorest nation, they went to Opulentus for financial aid, but the greedy nation refused to help them. In anger, the nation sets its eyes on Opulentus, ready to wage war and retrieve the gold which will not be shared.
To the far north above all of the major nations is Glaewood. Living in the cold and snowy forested mountains, the people of Glaewood have mostly cut themselves off from the other nations. They believe in power and strength, being ruled always by the strongest of their warriors. With power being valued most, Glaewood always trains to become stronger and respects other nations with strength as well. It dislikes Daravia, seeing the thieving nation as cowardly and unable to face their enemies and problems head on.
Finally, at the peak of the northern mountains lies a small city state. This is Drakus. It is the land of the dragons. The dragons refused to get caught up in any battles or issues with the other nations and have completely shut themselves out from the rest of the world. The dragons live peacefully on their mountain. They have no troubles with anything. Although they are the smallest, they are the strongest of the other nations. Having shut themselves out from the world, the dragons are ignorant to the issues in the other nations. As such, when the stray dragon or two wanders off, they are often found confused by the current events.
Among these nations, there are twelve weapons lost throughout history. Some are now held by members of royal families. Some are lost and sealed away in old vaults. Some are held by mercenaries wandering the land. And one is held by the hero of this story. Speaking of which, you may want to help introduce the hero. Who were they?

That’s right! The three heroes that started it all. The young dragon, Ryner, the warrior princess Elay, and the silent and loyal Kress. Let’s start with Ryner.
Prologue - Dragons Awaken
In the peaceful land of Drakus, the dragons all live happily in their city, nestled warmly in a mountain. In a small indent at the mountaintop, a barrier protects the village in a dome, keeping out the cold snow. This allows the green grass and colorful flowers to grow in the warmth of the Elder Dragon’s magic. It is powerful and has kept out strangers for many years. Many years in which the dragons happily spent their lives in the warm sunlight. In one of the warm, sunlit patches of flowers sleeps a somewhat lazy dragon. The flowers brush lightly against his white and blue tunic. It is traditional clothing of the dragon tribe, said to hold as a reminder of the clothing the first hero wore. He wears blue pants along with white boots. His messy, brown hair has a flower crown decorating it. Someone must have placed it there while he was deeply sleeping. This dragon is Ryner.
A calming breeze rustles the nearby plants and the sound of somebody speaking passes through Ryner’s pointed ears. “Ryner...wake up.” His bright, blue eyes open groggily to reveal a blurry image. It’s another dragon. A girl. She wears the same style of tunic, but hers is black and purple colored. She shares Ryner’s characteristics as well. His messy, brown hair and bright, blue eyes. Ryner slowly sits up, wiping the grogginess from his eyes. His sister, Lute, smiles at him. “Ryner, you lazy dragon! You must have slept her for almost two hours. Or at least long enough for me to decorate your head. Look! We match!” His younger sibling shows off the matching flower crown she adorned her head with. “Nice, right?”
Ryner let out a small laugh watching his sister. “Very nice.”
She tries to act a little more serious, but still keeps the kind smile on her face. “I woke you up because the Elder Dragon wants to see you. He said it was important.”
Ryner’s face reveals his curiosity on the subject and he tilts his head slightly. “Important? What’s so important he has to interrupt my nap?”
Lute puts her hand to her chin and thinks for a bit. “I dunno. He wouldn’t tell me. He said it was a secret. He would only tell me once I brought you over too.”
“Well,” Reyner stood up, sending flower petals floating around him as he did so. “There’s only one way to find out. Let’s get going.” He held out his hand, helping up Lute as well. As the two started on their way, they suddenly heard someone cry out for help.
“Did you hear that…?” Reyner looks to his sister.
“It was someone calling out for help! We gotta do something Reyner! Come on!” Lute grabs his arm and drags him off in the direction of the plea. As they run, they eventually find a man near the edge of the barrier being chased by a group of monsters. Undead skeletons and floating eyes follow after him. His gray armor looks damaged. “Hold on! We’re coming to help you!”
“I’ve never seen a dragon wielding a sword before. Monsters are not supposed to be able to breach the barrier. I get the feeling something is very wrong here. Be careful, Lute. This isn’t like our training sessions with the other dragons.” Reyner grips his stone tightly. The white dragon stone glows faintly as he counts his enemies. Three Bonewalkers and three Mogalls. It looks like they’re outnumbered, but hopefully the power of the Truestone is enough to even the odds.
Already holding her own stone, Lute looks to Reyner. “What’s the plan, big bro?”
A.) Reyner takes the front, focus on Mogalls first B.) Reyner takes the front, focus on Bonewalkers first C.) Lute takes the front, focus on Mogalls first D.) Lute takes the front, focus on Bonewalkers first

“Take out the eyes first. They’re using some kind of magic.” Ryner runs toward one of the Mogalls while the Truestone begins to glow. As he approaches, his body shifts forms. Scales form in place of his skin and claws grow on his hands. In no time at all, the unknown mercenary is suddenly standing before a silver dragon, watching as it swipes its powerful claws into the attacking Mogall.
Mogall receives 41 damage 0/12 HP
Reyner shreds the floating eye apart using his claws. The mercenary looks up in surprise. “A...dragon!? How do I get myself into these situations…?”
Lute calls out from behind to Reyner. “Wait for me!” She changes forms, growing in size into a beautiful, black dragon. She takes in a deep breath, remembering what she was taught from the elders before releasing a dark beam into one of the enemy Mogalls.
Mogall receives 23 damage 0/12 HP
The beam hits its target, obliterating the eye and leaving no trace of it behind. “Whoa! I did it!” Lute is proud of her accomplishment and lets out a cheer. “Look, Reyner, I actually beat it!”
“Nice job, but it isn’t over yet. There are more enemies, so watch out.” Reyner notices the incoming Bonewalkers and takes a defensive stance, bracing himself for their attacks.
Reyner receives 6 damage 14/20 HP
Miss! Reyner receives no damage 14/20 HP
Reyner receives 6 damage 8/20 HP
Reyner blocks out as much of the damage as he can from the incoming Bonewalkers, but the swords manage to chip through the scales and damage Reyner decently. Luckily, he stops the third attacking Bonewalker by knocking it over with his tail. “Alright, my turn.” He lunges forward at the bones, retaliating against their attacks.
Bonewalker receives 35 damage 0/18 HP
Bonewalker receives 35 damage 0/18 HP
Bonewalker receives 35 damage 0/18 HP
Reyner quickly leaps past each of the bone soldiers, darting back and forth while smashing his claws through them. One after the other, the three Bonewalkers shatter to pieces and bones fall to the ground.
Reyner reaches Level 3! Reyner’s HP, Strength, Skill, Speed, Luck, and Defense increase by 2! Reyner’s Resistance increases by 1!
“That’s what you get for interrupting my nap.” He dusts himself off and looks over to notice his sister confronting a Mogall. The Mogall strikes first and its eye flashes suddenly.
Miss! Lute takes no damage 18/18 HP
Dark energy starts to form around Lute slowly and she calmly waits, watching the magic. Then, just at the right moment she takes to the sky, dodging the dark blast beneath her. “Let’s see how you like it, meanie.”
Mogall receives 23 damage 0/12 HP
Lute unleashes another powerful and dark beam from her mouth, blasting the Mogall into oblivion. “Yeah! Take that!” She performs a quick victory loop in the air.
Lute reaches level 2! Lute’s HP, Skill, Speed, and Defense increase by 1!
“We got ‘em!” Lute lands down back on the ground and holds her claw happily in the air, celebrating victory.
“Yeah, not bad. We took them down pretty quickly.” Despite his wounds, Reyner still smiles at Lute and congratulates her.
“We were so awesome, blasting them down and smashing them apart!” She enthusiastically makes motions to act out their battle.
The baffled mercenary watches the two. “Dragons...that talk. And they saved me from monsters that I’ve never seen before. And I’m on some secret dragon mountain. Seriously, how does this stuff always happen to me?”
Reyner suddenly stops and turns his head quickly to look behind the mercenary. “It looks like the battle’s not over yet…” He growls menacingly at the giant Bonewalker behind the unknown mercenary.
“Don’t tell me…” The mercenary looks behind himself, met face to face with the rotting skeleton’s glowing, red eyes. “AHH!” He leaps back, reaching for his sword as it releases an unearthly moan. All that can be heard from it is pain and rage. “I’ll help this time!” The mercenary holds out his sword towards the giant Bonewalker and nods to the dragons behind him. “So...what exactly is the plan? Do I actually have to get close to that thing…?”
Terrance has joined Reyner!

"Oh, of course not." Terrance lets out a sigh of relief after hearing Reyner's response. "You just have to let IT get close to YOU."
"What!? That's crazy! Why would I let it attack me first!?"
"You're doing great already."
"What is that supposed to-" Terrance stops his sentence and turns his head to see the Giant Bonewalker right next to him.
Terrance receives 12 damage 7/19 HP
"GAH!" He lets out a short yell as the Giant Bonewalker lands a powerful blow on him, knocking him backward. "He hits hard..." Terrance gets back up on his feet, however, and prepares to retaliate, charging forward with his sword at the ready.
Giant Bonewalker receives 5 damage 35/40 HP
Terrance swings his sword into the skeleton, causing a few bones to chip before swinging his blade back around for a second hit, only to be blocked by the Bonewalker's shield. "I barely put a dent in that thing..."
"It looks like using the same attack twice in a row won't work. We'll only be able to hit it once at a time." Aware of the Giant Bonewalker's Wary Fighter skill, Terrance steps back and prepares to use a breath attack from a distance.
Giant Bonewalker receives 24 damage 11/40 HP
Ryner unleashes a ball of light from his mouth, launching it into the skeleton's body. Upon making contact, the light ball intensifies in glow and blasts outward powerfully, creating an explosion of light. The Bonewalker stumbles backward and some of its ribs are broken off, flying in random directions. "Time for the finisher!" Lute comes flying in with her beam breath at the ready.
Giant Bonewalker receives 18 damage 0/40 HP
Lute blasts a dark beam directly into the Giant Bonewalker's skull, creating multiple cracks in it. The monster slowly falls backwards, into the ground, before shattering apart into a pile of bones.
Lute reached level 3! Lute's HP, Strength, and Speed increase by 1!
"I did it!" She cheers and happily flaps her wings.

"I can't believe I made it out of there alive. Those monsters came out of nowhere." Terrance stands out of breath, holding his wound.
"You're lucky we were around. Drakus is a little ways from here down by the mountain's spring."
"Thank you for saving me." He starts to move, but flinches a little from his wounds. "How can you stay so calm when you have wounds like these as well...?"
"Hm? These? I barely feel them." Ryner looks to the cuts from the deceased Bonewalkers.
Lute stands by Terrance and leans down for him to hop on her back. "If it hurts, you can ride on my back. You don't seem like you'd be that heavy."
"...Thank you." Terrance climbs onto Lute's back, riding along as she walks toward Drakus.
Reyner asks a question he finds very serious as they walk. "Can you carry me on your back too? My nap was interrupted."
"No way! You're way bigger than me! Use your own two feet."
And so the adventure had finally begun and was set in place. Mysterious monsters started appearing and the dragons' barrier would soon fall. But how would these dragons affect the other world? Would it be for better or worse...?
Later, Reyner and his allies appear in the city state of Drakus...
The beautiful city of dragons is always full of Manaketes running around this way and that way. They live a happy and carefree lifestyle and everyone in town knows each other. There's significantly less of them here than in the other large cities, but that may be one of the charms to it. The streets are never too crowded. The city is built nearby a natural spring that is produced by the mountain and not only are there healthy flowers growing around throughout the city, but beautiful trees grow with blossoms on them. As Reyner and Lute approach, they are watched by some of the curious Manaketes out in the streets. They seem interested in the man riding on Lute's back. Most of them had never seen anything like it before. They eventually bring him to their home and Lute places him on a bed, tending to his wounds with a Vulnerary. He seems to heal rather quickly and she makes sure to heal up Ryner as well. "Darn, I think that was our last one. We have to go shopping for some more I guess, huh, Reyner?"
"Alright, I guess we can go shopping before I get back to sleeping."
"Don't you have to go see the elder too?"
Reyner sighs. "I'll never get back to my nap at this rate..."
Lute invites Terrance to come along as well. "Fine, take your time. Just get there at least tonight. Do you want to come, Terrance?"
"I guess I should. You helped me out, so helping you with your shopping is the least I could do." He gets up of the bed and goes along with the two outside.
What should they buy? (Choose 2. You can choose multiples of items.) A) Bronze Sword B) Iron Sword C) Bronze Axe D) Bronze Lance E) Bronze Bow F) Thunder G) Fire H) Wind I) Dragonstone J) Vulnerary K) Strength Tonic L) Skill Tonic
Choose 2 supports 1) Ryner Lute C 2) Ryner Terrance C 3) Lute Terrance C

Ryner, Lute, and Terrance head over to a local weaponry and browse the available weapons. They definitely have quite the variety, but quality isn't exactly the word used to describe them. Most of the actual weapons are fairly weak. It seems like the people here haven't had use for them in quite some time. They mostly focus on selling Dragonstones. Still, as Ryner and Lute look through the many different stones, a certain sword catches Terrance's eye. Holding it for a moment, he tests the sword out a little. It feels like it swings rather well. It's definitely stronger than his current sword as well. With a smile, he goes to look for his money, but finds its missing. "No way. I lost my gold while I was running from those monsters..."
"Hey, it's no problem!" Lute walks up to him and places a small sack of gold coins in his hand. "You can use our money." He looks at it sort of cautiously, but she urges him to take it. "Go on ahead. We don't mind. Honestly." He gives her smile and thanks her before buying a shiny, new sword. Ryner places a new stone he got away in a bag, attaching it to his belt.
"Alright, I guess I'll head on over to get the groceries then. You two meet me back at the house, okay? I'll be there soon." Ryner yawns and heads off toward the marketplace while Lute and Terrance walk off together toward the house.
Terrance looks around at the city in fascination. "I never thought the legends of the dragon people would ever be real. I mean...it all seems pretty crazy, don't you think?"
"Maybe to you. I think it's crazy that you guys don't turn into dragons. It's so fun! Why wouldn't you use your dragon forms?"
Terrance tilts his head slightly, both confused and a little surprised. "You must know about as much as we do about you. We don't HAVE dragon forms."
"What!?" Lute steps back and looks at him in shock. "That's just crazy! You gotta be messing with me."
"Nope! No dragon form. Watch." He holds his hand out and Lute places a Dragonstone in it. There's no glow in the stone and he doesn't change forms at all. "See? I told you." He hands the stone back and she looks at him, fascinated.
"Wow, it wasn't a joke. Here I thought you were just a weirdo."
"A weirdo...!? What's that supposed to mean? I'm not weird."
"Well, I mean, why else would you play with those big monsters?"
Terrance sighs. "Well, I wasn't really playing with them. More like running for my life. In terror. I just always seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time..."
"Hm..." Lute pats Terrance on the back, trying to cheer him up a little. "It's not so bad. Maybe don't think of it like everything goes wrong, but...everything is just unexpected. Besides, it's not all bad! If you didn't run into those weird monsters, you wouldn't have met me. Or Ryner." She gives him a big smile.
"...Yeah, I guess you're right." He gives her back a small smile. "And I'm sure everything will turn out okay. You're both really nice. Thank you, Lute."
"No problem!" She gives him a thumbs up. "Oh, we should probably hurry up back to the house. I want to beat Ryner there!" She runs off without him.
"Wait up!" She soon disappears from sight. "She runs fast. So much energy. Haha, maybe hanging out with these two could be fun." He continues to walk and comes across a fork in the road. "Er...wait. It was left right? Or wait...is it right? Or left? ...GAH! I'm lost."
Lute and Terrance have achieved Support Rank C!
Back at the house...
Lute excitedly runs up to the house and charges through the door. "I MADE IT! HA!" In the middle of her celebratory dragon dance, however, she notices Ryner sleeping nearby on the couch. "Aww...darn. I was so close. He didn't even put the groceries away." She crosses her arms and walks up to Reyner before noticing that on his head wears a slightly disheveled flower crown. "Hm...?" She pokes Ryner while he's sleeping and his eyes open before blinking a few times. "Big bro, you're still wearing those flowers on your head."
"...? Oh, yeah. The ones you got for me. Why wouldn't I be wearing them?"
"Were you wearing them the entire fight too?"
"Yeah. You made this for me, so I thought I'd keep it. You have one too, right? They match?"
"Oh..." Lute looks at the ground, slightly disappointed. "Sorry, mine kinda got destroyed in that fight. Um..."
"It's alright." He puts his hand on her shoulder. "It was just a bunch of flowers. We've got plenty of those. And we can always make more if you want."
"Yeah, but it was special to you right?"
"Don't worry about it. Making sure you're okay is more important to me."
She looks back up at him, smiling. "Really? Okay! I'm glad I didn't let you down then!"
"Let me down? Please. You're my little sister. How could you ever let me down?" He messes up her hair with his hand.
"Hey!" She uses both hands to play with his hair as well and mess it up. "Take that!"
"Oh, it's on now! You better get ready for my ultimate technique!"
"I'm not afraid of you, I'm a big and scary dragon! Rawr!" The two continue to play together and the groceries laying on the floor were never really put away.
Ryner and Lute achieved Support Rank C!
Once Terrance finally found Ryner and Lute's home after searching through a few streets and a field of sheep, he and Lute spent the rest of the afternoon training together while Ryner slept. For now, the dragons could get their rest and relax. Since that night, everything would change for them...
Lute achieved Stone Weapon Level D!
Terrance achieved Sword Weapon Level D!

Chapter 1 - The Dark Princess
Entering a large throne room, a princess swiftly makes her way across the floor. One step at a time, her black boots click on the floor and her matching dress flows calmly behind. The royal symbol of Umbra decorates the dress in a silver color. Wearing elegant, white gloves, the princess grips a sword with a golden hilt. The handle contains a design with golden wind, carved into it. The blade itself looks somewhat worn, but still glows with a slight, silver light. The princess stops in front of the throne, adjusting her tiara slightly and making sure her silver hair is kept out of her face. "Alright, father. I am ready for today's training."
A powerful man sitting on the throne wearing the same color scheme as his daughter responds. "As I thought you would be! If this session goes well, I hope to send you off on your first mission."
"Of course. I expect things will run smoothly. So, we are doing the usual I presume?"
The king lets out a strong laugh that carries through the room. "Not quite, Elay. You won't be facing me and you won't be facing Gerand. You will, however, be facing one of two powerful opponents." A butler escorts in a dark mage wearing royal robes. His long, black hair slightly covers his red eyes. "The royal mage's son, Darik."
"You're exactly as I thought you would be princess..."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Elay steps forward slightly.
The king laughs yet again. "Easy now, you aren't fighting yet. And I didn't even get to introduce your other choice." A girl wearing dark and slightly ragged clothes walks in. A brown scarf covers her mouth and her red hair is tied back to be kept from getting in the way. "A guest from Daravia, Shizuka."
"...Nice to meet you." She nods to the princess. Her voice is slightly muffled from the scarf.
"Now then. Which opponent would you choose to battle? Keep in mind each has a unique fighting style."
"Hmm..." Elay considers her options carefully, looking between the two that stand before her. Shizuka stands there quietly, watching with a serious expression. Darik seems slightly more relaxed and grins at her in a creepy sort of way.
A.) Battle Darik, the Dark Mage B.) Battle Shizuka, the Thief

"I choose Darik!" Elay points to the dark mage.
He steps forward, taking out a tome as Shizuka steps back into the shadows. "Nice choice, princess."
He casts a spell and the area starts to shake suddenly. Three magic circles appear in the room on the walls. "I've been wanting to try out this new spell. It summons zombies!" With a motion of his hand, the mysterious circles have an intense glow. Zombie creatures begin to make their way out of the circles. Three make their way out of each one.
"Risen? In the castle? Are you crazy?" Elay holds Excalibur, ready to protect herself from these beasts, but the Risen slowly start to close in.
"Oopsie, looks like I lost control of them. Sorry, princess!" Darik waves at her from behind some Risen.
"What!? Darik, you did this on purpose!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about." He pretends to act all innocent and flips through the pages of his tome, playing with some of the dark magic specks flying out. The king simply sits on his throne and continue to watch how things play out. Elay fights back, slaying one of the Risen, but a group of three surround her.
"No way. I can't lose here." She prepares to strike again, but two of the Risen suddenly fall down dead. Knives are in their backs. Shizuka stands there behind the corpses and looks at Elay.
"...Hm. It didn't seem like a fair fight." Another Risen jumps at Elay from behind, but the attack is intercepted as the Risen is kicked back and away from Elay. There, a butler wearing a suit with the black and silver colors of Umbra stands. He turns his head to look at Elay.
"Lady Elay, you must pay more attention to your surroundings."
Elay looks surprised. "Gerand? But I thought this was supposed to be my test. Something only I could do alone."
"As they say, all's fair in love and war." Gerand pulls another knife from his sleeve and takes up a battle stance.
"Oh, and remember, the Risen will keep on coming. It seems I just...lost control of the portals. Oh well. Just remember if you want to seal them, you have to walk up to the portal and exclaim 'Darik is the best dark mage ever!'" Darik laughs to himself a little and more Risen begin to walk through the portals.
Elay leers at him for a moment. "It looks like we have no choice. We'll have to cut through at least one of these groups of Risen to get to Darik. And even then, more might come..." Surveying the situation, Elay notes that there are three groups of three Risen. One group is a bunch of Soldiers wielding lances. Another is a bunch of Myrmidons wielding swords. The last are three Barbarians wielding axes.
"Remember from our other training sessions how different weapons have different fighting styles. Some weapons defeat others easier. Keep that in mind while battling. I'll follow your lead, Lady Elay."
A.) Everyone focus the Soldiers together B.) Everyone focus the Myrmidons together C.) Everyone focus the Barbarians together D.) Split up (Specify who goes where) E.) Stand your ground and guard against all three incoming groups

"Charge through the barbarians!" Elay runs toward the axe wielding Risen, brandishing Excalibur. She leaps into the air and swings her blade downward.
Barbarian receives 11 damage 9/20 HP
The weapon is jammed into the Risen and as she lands on its shoulders, she kicks off of it, pulling the blade back out and landing on her feet gracefully. It still stands, however, letting out a horrid roar and charging back at Elay.
Elay receives 12 damage 5/17 HP
The Risen knocks Elay backward and off her feet with its axe, landing a pretty heavy hit. "...That one hurt...You'll pay for that...!" Elay quickly jumps back up onto her feet and lunges toward her opponent ferociously.

She plunges her sword through the zombie warrior before kicking it off of her weapon, the body falling to the ground and dissolving into a dark energy. Elay then looks to her side, noticing two knives flying in the air.

A nearby Risen is struck by two knives and its attention is taken away from Elay toward the thrower, Gerand. "Do not lay a finger on Lady Elay." It starts to run toward him, but Shizuka drops down from above on top of the Risen.
Barbarian receives 7 damage 11/20 HP

She jabs both of her knives into the Risen before jumping off and throwing them into it in the air. The Risen is visibly becoming weaker. It roars again and charges Shizuka.
Miss! Shizuka takes no damage 19/19 HP
She deftly dodges the blow, rolling to the side as the axe smashes into the ground. Seeing her opening, Shizuka lands the finishing blow and defeats the Risen. Gerand shifts his focus from the defeated Risen over toward Elay. "Look out!"
Miss! Elay takes no damage 4/17 HP
Elay looks behind her, noticing a Risen swinging an axe at her head. She ducks just in time, avoiding the axe and finding an opening in the enemy's defenses.

Barbarian receives 11 damage 0/20 HP
She swings her sword up from the ground, uppercutting the Risen with it before slashing it across the chest and knocking it to the ground. "Don't mess with a princess."
Elay reaches level 2! Elay's HP, Strength, Skill, Defense, and Resistance increase by 1!
Gerand runs over to Elay. "Lady Elay! Are you injured? My staff can heal your wounds. You need just say the word."
Shizuka appears in front of the magic circle the barbarians came out of and recites the magic words. "Darik is the best dark mage ever."
"Aww, you really think so?" Darik waves his hand over by the circle and it disappears. He smirks at Shizuka and she just stares at him with her cold gaze.
Shizuka turns to Elay. "What now? We have an opening, but there are more Risen." One more Soldier and one more Myrmidon walk in through the still active circles.

"Thank you, Gerand." The butler holds his staff close to Elay and a warm light heals her wounds for the most part.
Elay recovers 13 health 18/18 HP
Elay stands back up and looks to Shizuka. "We're going to go on the defensive for now and wait for them to approach. You take the left side. I'll defend the right. Gerand, keep us alive with your staff."
Gerand steps back behind the two. "Yes, Lady Elay."
Shizuka runs up to Elay's side, getting ready to dodge incoming enemy attacks. "...Alright." The soldiers move in first toward Shizuka.

The soldiers all charge wildly, jabbing their lances at Shizuka, but she calmly steps aside, dodging one spear, before jumping over the other and kicking the soldier in the head, knocking it into the other attacking soldier before it can even try to damage her. The last soldier she simply uses a footstool to leap into the air. "Hmph..." Shizuka throws a rain of knives over her enemies.

Surrounded in Risen, they all attack together, damaging her with their own separate slashes. The small attacks all add up and Elay really feels them taking a toll on her. She falls to her knees, still gripping Excalibur. "Get. OFF!" She manages to get to her feet and swings the blade around herself in a circle.

"I may be getting used to this quick healing work."
Gerand reaches level 2! Gerand's HP, Strength, Magic, Skill, Speed, Luck, and Resistance increase by 1!
Elay points toward the portal beyond the soldiers. "Let's break through now that they are scattered!" Shizuka nods and the three of them run past the soldiers. Elay recites the magic words. "Darik is the best dark mage ever!"
"Well, if the princess says so, it must be true." Darik waves his hand at the portal, sealing it closed. The soldiers they left behind come running in back at them, however.

Elay stabs her sword into one of the Risen before spinning both the sword and Risen around into another Risen. She kicks the first Risen off her blade into the second before cleaving both of them with the blade and finishing them off. Shizuka runs past both Risen that attacked her and slashes their sides with her knives before performing a backflip back over them and throwing her knives into them. The two of them then land, standing side by side. "Not bad, Shizuka."

“Alright, you two stand back. I’ll handle the rest of these guys.” Elay steps in front of Shizuka and Gerand with Excalibur ready in a defensive stance.
“Allow me to heal your wounds first.”

They go right through the Risen, causing it to drop dead on the ground. The two then stop in front of the portal and recite the magic words together. “Darik is the best dark mage!”
“Such praise! You two must be really impressed with my skills.” He waves his hand, sealing away the final portal. He then looks around. “It looks like you took out all those zombies. I guess now we can really battle! Hey, look, a Nosferatu tome!”
“Darik! You’re not using real weapons on us are you!?” A dark sphere crashes next to Elay and explodes.
“Whoops! My finger must have slipped.”
“DARIK!”
Shizuka stares at him in disbelief. “He’s insane…”
Gerand runs over and heals Elay with his staff before the fighting begins.
Elay recovers 14 health 20/20 HP

"Shizuka, you move in first. I'll follow you shortly after." Shizuka nods and runs in toward Darik.
Darik receives 8 damage 14/22 HP
She stabs him with one of her knives before jumping back and getting some space between the two of them. Darik prepares his tome as dark energy flows around him.
Shizuka receives 18 damage 2/20 HP
Darik recovers 9 health 22/22 HP
He launches a dark sphere into Shizuka, causing an explosion before multiple smaller spheres float back to Darik from the blast, healing him. Shizuka is knocked backward, off her feet and lands on the ground. Getting up on her knees, she takes her last knife and throws it at Darik.
Darik receives 8 damage 14/22 HP
Elay approaches Darik, sword in hand and fire in her eyes. "Have you lost your mind!? This is just supposed to be a training session!"
"And training you I am." He puts aside his joking manner and takes up a serious tone. "This is preparing you for the real world. Nobody will hold back and nobody will go easy. No normal training will help you learn that."
"You ARE insane."
"On a battlefield, only one side may stand victorious. So we will battle to the death."
"Then I won't lose." Elay run in toward Darik.
Darik receives 13 damage 1/22 HP
Elay reaches level 5! Elay's HP, Strength, Skill, Speed, and Resistance increase by 1!
"...!?" Elay's blade slashes Darik, knocking him backward. He falls on one knee, holding his wound with one hand and his tome in the other. "...You held back." He stands back up and prepares another spell. "I told you not to."
Miss! Elay takes no damage 20/20 HP
As Darik's spell starts being cast, he's suddenly punched in the face, causing it to miss completely and blow up a wall. Gerand stands in front of him. "Forgetting someone? I told you not to hurt Lady Elay."
Darik receives 3 damage 0/22 HP
Gerand smacks Darik in the head with a frying pan, knocking him out. "You are safe now. I apologize for taking so long."
Gerand reaches level 4! Gerand's HP, Magic, Speed, Luck, and Defense increase by 1!

Gerand gets to work healing Shizuka while Elay heads back to her father. "It is done. We have defeated Darik in battle."
"Well done, Elay. You did not disappoint me. I will have Darik taken by the staff to be healed. Tomorrow morning, I will call you back here in the throne room to give you your mission."
"Yes, of course."
"Oh, and before you go, remember that both Shizuka and Darik will be going with you on this mission. Try to make sure you get along with both of them."
Elay sighs. "But-"
"No buts, Elay. If we hope to achieve the peace and understanding we strive for, we must learn to forgive."
"...Very well. I understand. I will be preparing for tomorrow's mission if you are looking for me." Elay walks out of the throne room filled with nervousness, excitement, and a little curiosity.

Elay goes searching for Darik, eventually finding him at the training grounds, practicing his spells. As he tests out a new tome he recently bought, she walks up toward him angrily. "Darik! What were you thinking back there? We could have been hurt!"
"What do you mean, Princess?" He closes his book as a training dummy explodes into pieces from a dark blast. Turning to look at the princess, he notices her angry stare.
"I mean that you could have hurt one of us badly. Maybe even killed us. You're lucky nothing happened, or else I'd have your head!"
"Those are some pretty nasty words from such a pretty princess. But we both know you wouldn't kill me. You held back during our training. Face it, you need me. I know you could have cut me in two with Excalibur right that moment if you felt like it."
Elay reaches for her sword, unsheathing it and approaching Darik threateningly. "Don't talk to me like that. You speak to everyone so condescendingly. What's your problem?"
"I don't have a problem." He doesn't seem fazed by the weapon held at him. "But you do. You always jump to conclusions. That's no way for a princess to lead her people."
"DON'T TELL ME HOW TO LEAD MY PEOPLE." Her grip tightens and the blade moves close to Darik's throat for a moment. "If it were up to me, you'd be dead already. But father told me I needed to keep you around and I trust him. But don't go thinking that means I trust you for a second. Watch your step, mage." She says the word as if it were an insult before lowering her blade and putting it away. "One step out of line and I'll cleave you in two. Don't forget that." She walks off, leaving Darik alone in the training grounds.
"Hmm...Maybe I should tell her the truth." A look of concern moves over Darik's face, but he soon shakes it away. "Perhaps later. Right now I need to prepare for the journey ahead. Sidhe is quite a ways away after all..."
Elay and Darik reached Support Level C!
Later that same day...
Shizuka prepares her belongings for the long trip, storing away a rather large collection of knives. As she places them away and moves along, Darik walks up to her and watches. "Hmm..." He stares at her as she works.
"..." Shizuka continues to store her knives and then moves on to carrying around larger cargo such as crates and barrels.
"Hmmmmm..." Darik continues to stare at her.
"..." Shizuka finishes loading up the crates and as she turns around, Darik is standing directly behind her, staring her in the face.
"HMMMMMM...?"
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT!?" She yells at him, frustrated.
"Oh, me? I just wanted to tell you that you forgot to pack away one of these knives." He takes out one of the knives similar to what she had been packing away and shows it to her.
"...?" She looks from the knife to the large crate holding multiple knives underneath multiple other crates and back to the knife. Then she stares at Darik for a moment. "..." She sighs and then walks away from him, taking the knife. Darik can hear her yell in the distance. "DAMMIT!"
Shizuka and Darik reached Support Level C!
After Shizuka finished preparing everything, Darik wandered off to perform some curse training while Gerand practiced his healing skills. Elay spent the night training and had difficulty sleeping, staying up and thinking about the mission she would be given tomorrow. What could possibly await her? Where were they going? Why of all people did she need Darik to go with her?

Chapter 2 - The Beast's Roar
It's a warm and bright day in Sidhe. The capital, Leocor, is full of people today. It's a festival. The Moonfang Festival, celebrating the anniversary of the day all the Laguz tribes banded together and founded Sidhe. To celebrate, many people crowd the streets, selling special foods and treats and play games and perform special dances and songs. Walking along one of the streets is a beautiful Laguz. Her mid length, wavy hair is black with a golden streak going down the left side. Her eyes are dark brown with golden circles in them and her tail is fluffy and black with a golden tip. At her side is a cat Laguz that is about the same age. She has short, blue hair and blue eyes. She runs around the wolf Laguz playfully, poking her. "Hey, Kress! Hey! When are we gonna get some moon cakes? We always get them together every year. Come on, it's a tradition!" She continues to dart around Kress.
The wolf laughs a little and smiles. "Soon, Kit."
Kress continues down the road and Kit chases after her. As they continue on, a mysterious and hooded man blends in with the crowds and move along in the shadows.
Kress stops by one of the vendors and buys two moon cakes for herself and her friend. The woman running the stand happily serves them and tells them to have a great Moonfang Festival. Kit reaches out excitedly for her cake. "Ooh, gimme gimme gimme!" Kress smiles and tosses a cake to her. Kit catches it in her hands and starts to gobble it down. Kress eats more slowly, looking around and enjoying the scenery. Kit stands close to Kress, looking in the same direction. "Whatcha lookin' at?"
"...I think the parade is starting." Kress points over toward a group of Laguz playing instruments that are approaching.
Kit gasps in excitement. "Yes! I love parades! Come on!" She grabs Kress' hand and drags her through the crowds over to the rooftop they sit on every year. The Laguz down below perform all sorts of different dances and different parade floats pass by, carried by powerful Laguz. Each of the tribes has their own special showing of their skills. The cats perform all manner of acrobatic moves, the birds always have an air show planned, the Taguel perform some of their traditional dances and ceremonies from their ancient tribe, the Kitsune usually work together to create a mysteriously dazzling display with spirit flames, and finally, the royal wolves come walking in. The king and queen. They wave to everyone as they pass through. The king is a strong, tall man with black eyes and hair. The queen has golden hair and the same, strange, blue eyes as Kress. The two walk along together and the people watch and cheer. Finally, behind them are a group of non Laguz. A group of Beorc knights wearing the symbol of Opulentus. Kress looks slightly concerned upon seeing them and most of the crowd is quiet. The cheering stops. The knights march onward. Two knights lead the front with a troubadour and light mage following close behind.
The troubadour whispers to the light mage. "Faron...they...they stopped cheering."
"Do not worry. It is natural for them to be shocked. After all, our nations have been at each others' throats for quite some time. We are lucky Sir Gallant is here to help devise a peace treaty."
"...Okay. I guess you're right."
"Of course. Though it is odd they didn't have the king come to put it together. I guess he was just busy." The troubadour looks down slightly, still worried.
Meanwhile, on the roof, Kit whispers to Kress. "What are Opulentian knights doing here...!? Why are your parents just okay with this...!?"
"...I don't know." Kress looks at the knights with confusion.
"Well let's get to the bottom of it. Come on." Kress nods and the two of them leap off the rooftop. Watching the two knights in the lead walk into the castle, they head over to a nearby window to listen.
The knights sit at a large table with the king and queen. Laguz guards stand nearby to protect them. The queen speaks up. "So you have called us here to create a peace treaty. Something to end the fighting between our people. I assume you are taking the place of the king, correct?"
"That is right. The king had other...plans. To attend to. I was sent here to help him with business."
"Very well then. Now, you are aware of our conditions. We simply ask that you no longer attack our people and treat the Laguz equally to the Beorc."
"...Heheh...Treating Laguz equally to Beorc." The guards become uneasy, reaching for their beaststones. "Laguz are nothing close to equal to us. Your people are mindless animals. Your existence is only as slaves to us." The knights nearby stand and reach for their weapons. The guard Laguz transform into multiple different beasts and the king stands up.
"You dare to draw your weapons against us? You are heavily outnumbered here. Our castle is filled with guards."
"Hahaha! Guards! Guards!? You may call them your loyal guards, but lets see how loyal they really are!"
"What do-" The king is cut off as the sound of fighting erupts from behind him. One of the cats had killed the other in a surprise attack.
"It is AMAZING what some people will do for money."
"You bribed our own soldiers?" The king watches the knight carefully.
The queen stands up from her chair. "This is madness! What do you hope to accomplish with this? We were here to negotiate peace, not to do battle!'
"Correction. You were here to negotiate peace. I am here to become a legend. Just imagine it. The history books will speak of the day the great knight, Gallant conquered Leocor, capital of Sidhe! Then he wiped out each of the ugly filth Laguz from this world, one at a time."
"Quiet, you! I've heard enough of your babbling!" The king reaches for a stone and transforms into a large, black wolf. The queen takes on a golden wolf form and both growl at the knight before them.
"Oh, the scary doggies want a fight. Hahaha! Darius, go find the vault! I want you to loot every last gold you can find in there."
"Yes, sir." The knight heads off down the hall in search of the vault holding the kingdom's gold.
Outside, Kress and Kit hear this all go down. They look to each other and nod before breaking open the window and jumping in, both transforming at the same time. Kress takes the form of a black wolf with golden markings all over her body and Kit becomes a dark blue cat. "Father...I'm here."
The king is surprised. "Kress!? You shouldn't be here!"
Kit speaks up. "That doesn't really matter right now. We have enemies surrounding us!"
"...You're right. Very well then. Stand back you two. This knight is very strong." He looks over at the queen. "Avalon, take these two with you and stop that other knight from reaching the vault." The queen nods.
"Stay safe, Warius." The queen runs over to the exit, easily tearing down the soldiers that stand there to guard it. Kress and Kit follow after, but Gallant tries to hit them with his axe.
"Your fight is with me!" Warius bits him from behind and breaks some of Gallant's armor while causing him to miss his attack. "Go!" He motions for the other three to leave.
Kress, Kit, and Avalon all enter the halls of the castle. "The vault is down that way." Avalon motions toward a certain direction in the hall.
"It leads there regardless of if you take the ground floor or the upper level."
Kit thinks carefully. "Which way do you think we should go, Kress?" Kress sniffs out the area. She can smell exactly how many enemies are here. On the ground floor there are three knights, three thieves, two archers, two enemy cat Laguz, and that other knight from before. His name was...Darius? Kress also sniffs out that the second floor contains two knights, three mercenaries, two mages, two enemy bird Laguz, and one enemy Taguel. There are two bird Laguz that are still working for the royal family. She can tell. They don't smell greedy. There's also a familiar scent. ...Garu...?
Meanwhile, on the second floor, the knights from Opulentus begin to search around frantically and the Laguz guards begin to turn on each other. A crow Laguz standing guard nearby the vault looks around in confusion at the chaos before turning to one of the other guards. "What's going on!?"
"I don't know! These knights started attacking and our own allies began turning on each other! I think that we're under attack!"
"Of all the days..." He reaches for his stone and transforms into a crow. "Keep the vault safe from the incoming knights. I'll be helping to protect it as well."
"Right! We'll stand by your side, Garu."
Which path will Kress take? A.) Ground Floor B.) Upper Floor
What formation will the birds fight in? A.) Have the allies create a protective wall around the vault and Garu will stand at the front B.) Garu will move on ahead while the allies stay behind to protect the vault C.) Both Garu and the allies leave the vault behind, charging through the upper level to attack enemies D.) “Bottom floor...” Kress approaches the door, but is stopped by her mother.
“Let's me go in first. The enemies might be planning an ambush.” Avalon kicks open the doors and unleashes a loud, resounding howl. The archers and thieves in the room are caught off guard and attempt to attack the golden wolf.

Garu quickly flies past the enemy Laguz multiple times, raking his talons through them. Both of the birds drop from the air to the ground, dead. “No mercy for traitors like you.”
Garu reaches level 2! Garu’s Health, Strength, Skill, Speed, Luck, and Defense increases by 1!
He returns to the ground, struggling to fly with his wounds. “Garu, more enemies are approaching. Mercenaries from the Opulentian army.” One of the birds working under Garu’s command points out a group of three mercenaries running toward the vault.
